The torture/sex is obviously reference to Almost Rape. and Almost Rape doesn't quite count, therefore, he has nothing to recover from. Even if he does need to recover, this is Dick Rahl. He is not bound by petty human means and limits, because he is the main character. Thus, he is exempt from such things.
