  1. Can this topic start after the episode airs? or maybe take the play by play to a different thread? Not sure why the book spoilers discussion thread gets clogged up by a bunch of posters who feel the need to "live tweet" the episode Anyway, in the episode, Bran (Bloodraven?) has clearly affected the past, Bloodraven told us this was impossible, did he not? Was he lying? Or does he actually believe it to be impossible because he himself can't do it? Well, I think we've already seen Bran affect the past or at least communicate through time, and I think it happened in Jon VII of A Clash of Kings. Jon has a wolf dream in the skirling pass and sees Bran as a weirwood tree. They have a short telepathic conversation, Jon asks if he's always had three eyes, smells Bran's surroundings and bristles at the scent of death, (BR imo). Bran responds with something along the lines of "not before the three eyed crow" and "I like it in the dark, no one can see you but you can see them." Then Bran tells Jon he can have a third eye too and reaches out with a branch and pokes Jon's (ghost's) forehead between the eyes. Then Jon (still Ghost) is suddenly on the edge of this huge cliff looking down at Mance's entire host. At that point in the story, Bran is in the crypts of Winterfell, and doesn't have the ability to skinchange into weirwoods, so I think it's yet to happen in Bran's life, but always happened in a sort of destiny paradox type of time loop scenario.
  2. Absolutely, they completely missed the mark this season. I don't understand how they could blow it this bad... oh ya, they thought putting Feast and Dance into one season was a good idea. So i guess their incompetence should have been more obvious. Like you said in your previous post, Dorne was awful, way to go, ruin an awesome story. No Quentin, no Arianne. Just total negligence on Dan and DB's part. The feeling of the whole story was wrong. If Dany is just making all perfect decisions than the story becomes plain and one sided, where as in the books, she shows her inexperience, which one would expect from an outsider trying to rule a foreign country with foreign customs. It's funny to think about but they make a fantasy story seem far fetched. And don't get me started on Jon's botched arc. The assassination at the end was horrid. They make him too perfect in the show as well, which just makes the brothers of the watch look bad. In the book, Jon really leaves his brothers with no choice, which is why they're crying when their hands are forced. But the show misses that entirely and they make it all about Jon letting the wildlings come south. How hard would it truly have been for them to get it right?
  3. BOOO! Why does everyone love the Stannis scene? And why does Mel not recognize Shireen for the dead girl walking that she is? Why am I not watching the books in live action :bawl: ? Ah last weeks episode showed promise that they were turning it around, but nope. They had to crush my hopes. This season has been absolutely awful, and I'm pretty surprised at how many people on these boards are pleased with what they've seen. To each their own, but I'm going to vent/rant anyway. Why no Iron Born first and foremost. Why is Jaime going to Dorne? I guess the Riverlands are in good shape, no need to touch on that this season. Belwas? Lets kill off Barristan, he's not important. Will there ever be a battle in Mereen? if so who really cares, Victarion doesn't exist and Barry is dead so I don't have a dog in that fight anyway. Lady Stoneheart and the Freys? Let's portray the Faith Militant as a bunch of lunatics hissing at and murdering sinners. Hey Jon you wanna cop a feel? Who the hell is in Tommen's Kings Guard? (f)aegon? Quentin? Arianne? Gah those Sand Snakes are not exciting me in the least. :bang: Woah, what just happened I think I blacked out for a minute there. I am however kind of looking forward to Sansa taking the role of Jeyne Pool, and they have done a few other things well, like the conversations about Rhaegar and Lyanna.
  4. They're staying true to the books by testing our patience. It's Memorial Day Weekend in the US, so I'd imagine that's why.
  5. Everyone is breaking my little black heart with their dislike for Brienne's story. :crying:
  6. Well as of right now, (in show universe) Tyrion could quite realistically be the only one who knows that Oberyn will champion for him (aside from Ellaria). So we can still hope for an on-screen reveal to the court.
  7. At least they're staying true to the books by testing our patience with the week off.
  8. "no more than 8" was the most recent I've seen IIRC
  9. So do you think that next season will include all of Feast and Dance? I assume they use that content over the course of the next two seasons.
  10. Nobody is disappointed by that? That scene on the whispers where she kills the members of the Bloody Mummers was awesome, and Gendry stabbing Biter through the back of the head was awesome.
  11. So what's going to happen with Brienne next season? Rorge and Biter are dead and the Bloody Mummers don't even exist.
  12. I kind of like how they made it seem as if Shae escaped. It will be that much more of a shock to the non-readers when she shows up to testify against Tyrion
