  1. The link to the website at Category:Images by Anna Christenson is a little bit delicate... Someone should remove it.
  2. I guess because her mother was a Velaryon.
  3. Of course Nittanian's proposal would be an improvement, but to be honest, I don't see any need for such pages, as well. I mean, what's next? A page called "Mental problems"?
  4. Alcoholism Somehow I think this is a weird article. The persons listed as "Alcoholics" or having "Alcohol tendencies" are chosen rather arbitarily. Once we had a discussion about categorising characters as rapists and decided not to do that because it would always be an assessment a wiki shouldn't do. So what to do with it?
  5. @Ran According to the maps released in A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons Felwood is located south of the Wendwater, but on the stormlands map in The World of Ice and Fire it's located where the river originates. Can you tell the actual position of the castle?
  6. I would ask Ran or Linda, they can tell you the reson for the round shields for sure.
  7. Thanks. I even think that it came from GRRM himself.
  8. Where is it stated that the Houses Bulwer, Beesbury, Cuy, Costayne, and Mullendore are vassals to House Hightower?
  9. Somehow I had always bendwise in my mind, but it's not mentioned in the blazoning at all. Terrible day. So I guess this is the right one? Just pale green ivy instead of Azure and black masonry instead of Or.
  10. Now it works. Due to the order of wording I would say that it refers to the colour. Since no bendlets are mentioned, I would argue that the ivy is just set up bendwise, not even actually per bend. Have a look on the arms of Jane Seymour. The relevant field is blazoned: 5: Per bend gules and argent, three roses bendwise counterchanged
  11. The second link is the same as the first one.
  12. I guess it means that the ivy is set bendwise on the field. Like this. Would you agree with my explanation here?
  13. Sigil of House Westbrook was uploaded by Scafloc, you are allowed to modify it. That of House Edgerton was shared under Creative Commons by-sa 2.0 licence, don't know the terms of it, but I guess it can be found somewhere.
  14. It's not about the paternal or female line but the order in the description. The first field is always mentioned first, then the second one and so on. "Quartered: black and white half-fusily, a wheel of flame on indigo" means that the first (and fourth) field show black and white half-fusily, the second (and third) field a wheel of flame indigo.
  15. Yes, I think it's one of the basic rules. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quartering_(heraldry
  16. House Kidwell I guess it means that the ivy is set bendwise on the field. Like this.
  17. So were those two different houses with the same name?
  18. The arms of House Edgerton don't match with the description at the Citadel, the fields are mixed up. The arms of House Westbrook depict four bars instead of two. @Ran House Yelshire - Barry green and gold, a black battering ram with a gold head on a black chief Black on black seems a bit unlikely, and your version depicts a white chief, can you tell what's the right one?
  19. Where is it stated that the seat of House Chyttering is Chyttering?
  20. Thanks a lot for clarifying. I don't know if it's allowed to upload those images, but maybe you could send them to me per PM?
  21. Where does that come from? The graphic novels?
  22. Thanks for the advise, I'm going to ask them. Some time ago I tried to get the permission for using the images on the German Ice and Fire Wikia, so I asked the German publisher that told me the copyright was with the artists. Then I addressed myself to one of the artists who told me copyright was with the publisher. After that I wrote to the English publisher, but didn't get a reply. Maybe @Ran can clarify it?
  23. I've got a question regarding the politics of using images from The World of Ice and Fire. Under most of the image files it is stated: "This work is copyrighted, the copyright holder has granted permission for this image to be used in Wiki of Song of Ice and Fire. This permission does not extend to third parties." But in contrast to many other files the wording of the permission isn't given, so I started wondering if anyone asked the publisher (it seems that the artists themselves weren't asked) for permission at all. Can anyone tell me the source of that permission?
