Blazfemur Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 By now, half the realm probably does have targ blood, what with Aegon the Unworthy, the dragon seeds, and all the lesser princes and princesses that married into noble Andal families and/or fathered bastards on whores, servants and other smallfolk over 300 years. But I still don't believe having Targ blood is the same thing has having "blood of the dragon." That seems to show up in very few Targs. It's because Targaryen blood isn't the secret bloodline that is magical and controls dragons. It's Valyrian blood. Same reason why not all of melisandre's magic works. She thinks it's kingsblood, the secret, is Valyrian blood. it's ice equivelent, is First Men blood. the secre to targaryen incest, and craster's incest, is the increasing potency of valyrian blood, and first men blood. the summerhall tragedy? they sacrificed one that wasnt potent in valyrian, so the sacrifice was a waste.
