From what we have been told, he was a terror for both the West and the North (Beron Stark dies from wounds received from Dagon's raiders) and was eventually executed after the Lord of Winterfell and Casterly Rock essentially forced the Targaryens to get involved. Yet we are specifically told that the Ironborn were not a threat/didn't really do anything after the downfall of the Red Kraken.
