Mycah Bluth
Rewatching Season One, recently, I caught something that never came up the first time around. In "Baelor," in the moments before Ned's sentencing, people in the crowd start to throw stones at him. When he stumbles and falls, the Hound, who is standing behind him, is the only one to grab him and help him back to his feet. Then, when Joffrey passes the sentence and everyone goes crazy again, the Hound is not on camera. In the opening moments of "Fire and Blood," the camera opens on Arya and Yoren, but you can clearly see the Hound holding up Ned's severed head for the screaming crowd; later on, of course, the Hound will warn Sansa to do as she's bid and confront the awful reality of her father's death. I thought that was a curious characterization choice on the part of the writers, if indeed it was conscious. Did that jump out at anyone else? Ser Wilfred
Never noticed that! Seems REALLY out of character to me
dark sister's brother
I always thought it was. Slynt that did that- strange that they would change it.
Ser Wilfred
Only reason I can think of is Joffrey (literally the only person who thought the execution was a good idea) told him to do it. Sandor may have questionable morals but blatantly flaunting someones head isn't his style

Ghosts Lunch
Wish it was Slynt Would make a certain upcoming scene all the more satisying...
The Stag Lord
I agree with Ser Wilfred, I think Joffrey would've told him to do it. The Hound did what he was told once. He killed the butcher's boy.

Mad Madam Mim
I had to go back and watch and although its blurry it is him! I mean, I know the Hound's moral compass has always been a bit squiffy but he isn't sadistic and cruel. Pretty sure it's Slynt in the books? TropicVirus
Only reason I can think of is Joffrey (literally the only person who thought the execution was a good idea) told him to do it. Sandor may have questionable morals but blatantly flaunting someones head isn't his style I agree that Joffrey ordered Sandor, but it seemed as if most of the people in the crowd really wanted his head. They were lied to, about the 'Treason', which is a death sentence, of course. So Joffrey was far from the only one, which makes Neds beheading, "without honor" to many people in Kings landing and wherever the rumors spread even worse
knwoolf
Did anyone notice the ravens also? Something to do with the weirwoods? I may be just being conspicuous and it was just the ravens setting out to tell that Ned had been beheaded. I tried to start a new thread but for some reason it is not letting me. As it may have been discussed before but I could not find anything. I do apologise if it has but this seemed the most relative to the subject. Hope you don't mind :)
