Two and a Halfhand Posted April 30, 2015 Share Posted April 30, 2015 I don't think i will ever like a historical character more than one from the books but my favorite thing about them is the parallel between them and the characters we all know and love.For example,i can't think of Torrhen Stark's story without thinking of Jaime.I mean,they both did the thing that saved the most lives,the thing that was the greater good(kneeling instead of fighting dragons/killing Aerys and the piromancers and saving KL)instead of the "honorable" thing to do (go to war to defend your honor as King no matter what/following the King you swore to protect no matter what) and for that gained nicknames that cursed their reputation forever(King who knelt/Kingslayer),sacrificing their honor for the people who mocked them later.That's the thing i like best about ASOIAF's history,it mirrors the actual story and it's characters Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
