Fox fur cloak Posted May 12, 2015 Share Posted May 12, 2015 I was wondering if anyone can point me to any GRRM quotes or interviews in which he talks about character archetypes, fairy tales/folklore, or even tropes he was trying to subvert when writing his novels. I'm curious because he does such a good job at providing a variety of characters that don't particularly fit any one role, and also because of all the references and parallels to mythology.
