Why was the Eyrie and Harrenhal so important for Littlefinger?

Recommended Posts

Littlefinger is mysterious but we are seeing more clues of what he knows about things to come than most Westerosi. He’s been on a real estate hunt doing his best Lann the Clever imitation, tricking people out of their strongholds.

Why? He knows another Long Night will soon be upon the lands and what better place to be safe and have access to than the Eyrie, hundreds of feet high above any enemies like Others, Wights, Old Ones or dead Sea Walkers cant reach you. He also wanted Harrenhal and all its potential magic (that may be drawn from the Gods Eye) and possible knowledge if it stil has a library.

They say the Eyrie is impregnable, and Littlefinger swindled his way to become Lord protector of the Vale, Lord of Harrenhal and Lord paramount of the Trident. His long con continues.

Harrenhal, as decimated as it is, still has the potential for a lot of magic.BUT WHY DAMMIT? Commonly known to be haunted, past darkly sigiled Houses have held Harrenhal and gone. There may possibly have been or still is a library with vast knowledge of magic within its towers.

Btw, The places that have libraries are crucial to the survival of humanity. Are libraries are all geographically located for just this situation. Just as Houses with Valyrian Steel swords are located to defend against the sea also. Look at the map. With exception of Heartsbane. Look at all the Houses that have a Valyrian Steel Sword, all close to the sea, except for again Heartsbane and Ice, but Ice was important because of the Others.

We know the Ironborn took almost half a century to finish the vast structure of Harrenral. If finished, it would have been able to house thousands of people and protect them from the Long Night and unnatural enemies outside or what was its purpose anyway

Ironborn thought big. He was building a structure that can rival other black stone structures in the Known World, such as the Hightower, Five Forts, the Walls of Volantis, or other black stone wonders of the Known World?

Harrenhal was so important to the Ironborn that these sea loving peoples left the Iron Islands and the their seawaters to enslave mainlanders to make this monstrosity smack dab in the middle of Westeros land so far away from the their seas??? But they were still close to the Gods Eye at least.

They were preparing for unnatural dangers that can come from the sea as well as the north. His primary concern were the Deep Ones and the Old ones, Dead things in the Water, dead Sea-Walkers or whatever.... since the Iron Islands are so vunerable to supernatural invasion. The Ironborn were heading out of Dodge. Harren was smart enough to build Harrenhal close to the waters of the Gods Eye, which maybe full of magical potential?? i guess?

But stay tuned, prediction is Littlefinger has his sights on Casterly Rock also. Another good stronghold.
