Maester Emrick of Seagard Posted May 18, 2015 Share Posted May 18, 2015 I just realised that ASOIAF's POVs have been in all of the regions of the Seven Kingdoms... but Westerlands. The closest to it is Tyrion going to Winterfell from Casterly Rock in the first book. Probably this situation will not stay like this, and Martin will give us a Westerlands plot in TWOW or ADOS. Tyrus Martell Posted May 19, 2015 Share Posted May 19, 2015 I noticed this too. I'd love to have a Westerlands POV and finally see Casterly Rock, Lannisport and just the Westerlands in general. Maybe the prologue will be a Westerman, given that we know Jeyne Westerling will be in it. I've posted here before I think a Lannister commander like Forley Prester may be the prologue POV, given he's the knight in command of the escort taking Jeyne and Edmure back to Casterly Rock - on Jaime's orders. And we all know what happens to prologue POVs. If it isn't a new Westerland character POV, we'll see the region from an existing one. SolomonBlack Posted May 19, 2015 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Well we've been left hanging on conditions in King's Landing lot of potential to kick Cersei out of the city which makes the Rock a logical fall back. Which could also draw Jaime back home, and Brienne with him Tyrion is a little far away for anything but an epilogue, I dare suggest he's going to be too busy running Dany's glorious invasion or something. And has to pull something pretty huge to hold the Rock for long, everyone there doubtless considers him a horrid criminal. Nevermind taking the strongest fortress in Westeros in the first place. If Asha and Reek Theon can depose Euron we might draw anyone in the North down for some raiding out of the Sunset Sea to get the war against the Iron Throne restarted. (Presuming we see the Westerlands at all, nothing really latent and brewing that demands we must visit all seven nine dominions of Westeros) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Hos the Hostage Posted May 19, 2015 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Prologue of Winds will have Jeyne Westerling, who is supposed to be escorted to CR. The popular speculation is that the prologue chapter will involve BwB attacking the Lannister men and kidnapping Jeyne and Edmure to take them to Lady Stoneheart. My bet for the prologue PoV is Forley Prestor, but if GRRM follows the pattern, it should be a maester, and the Casterly Rock maester seems a good guess.
