OtherFromAnotherMother
This has probably been discussed before but I wanted to get some thoughts. Re-reading DwD this stood out to me from Tyrion IV: Quote Baelor the Blessed had ordered all Barth's writings destroyed when he came to the Iron Throne. Ten years ago, Tyrion had read a fragment of Unnatural History that had eluded the Blessed Baelor, but he doubted that any of Barth's work had found its way across the narrow sea. And of course there was even less chance of his coming on the fragmentary, anonymous, blood-soaked tome sometimes called Blood and Fire and sometimes The Death of Dragons, the only surviving copy of which was supposedly hidden away in a locked vault beneath the Citadel. My first thought was of Jaqen. Does anyone think this could possibly be why he is in the citadel? Are they searching for information on dragons? I am thinking no. I don't believe there is any discussing of dragons by Jaqen or the kindly man. I think the FM have other reasons for being in the citadel but I was curious if anyone had any thoughts on this. GRRM using the word "locked" has me interested though, given that we know what Pate traded with.
Mick of House Guinness
The Faceless Men are probably anti-dragon. They were certainly anti-Valyria afterall. There is also Marwyn's claim that the maesters were responsible for the death of the last dragons, If true who knows what else is locked in the Citadel's vaults.
