Predictions on Game of Thrones Season Eight

Premise

My predictions are based on Game of Thrones seasons one through seven and A Song of Ice and Fire books one through five. Demons are in the details, so I use George R.R. Martin’s words to foretell events in the eighth and final season of HBO’s special, Game of Thrones, which airs this weekend.

(On chronology, the events will not necessarily happen in order.)

Deaths

  • Cersei Lannister by Tyrion Lannister
    • In Cersei's nightmare about Maggy the Frog's prophecy of her future, she’d be killed by the valonqar, High Valyrian for little brother.
    • Cersei, in an attempt to hurt Tyrion, ceases the wrong whore. “A day will come when your joy will turn into ashes and you shall know the debt is repaid,” promised Tyrion. A sorrowful debt is owed, and we know a Lannister always pays his debt.
  • Jaime Lannister
    • From Jaime's dream: in a dark chamber at Casterly Rock, he’s attacked by dead Aerys, Prince Rhaegar, Ser Arthur and the children. Brienne Tarth shall to there to witness.
  • Lord Varys and Lady Melisandre
    • After playing their respective parts in the great war, both strangers will die in a foreigner’s land.
  • Euron Greyjoy
    • Among other sins, he brought the death of Balon Greyjoy for which he is yet to atone.
  • Ser Robert Strong (undead Gregor Clegane) by Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark
    • Arya Stark's lengthy list contains the Mountain.
    • The Mountain should be killed by only me, thinks the Hound.
    • The Hound will confront his fear of fire and eventually lash at his brother.
  • More and Many More by Arya Stark
  • The Night's King by Jon Snow with Brandon Stark's help
  • Daenerys Targaryen or Jon Snow—one kills the other
    • Unfortunately, one of two lovers will die. In a tale and prophecy by Salladhor Saan and Melisandre respectively, the promised prince Azor Ahai killed his lover Nissa Nissa with Lightbringer.
    • The message is gender-neutral as Aemon Targaryen professed. Azor Ahai is promised, but whether the promised one is a prince or a princess is uncertain.

Will Evade Death

  • Tyrion Lannister
  • Gendry Baratheon
  • Samwell Tarly
  • Craster's only surviving child
  • Jorah Mormont
  • Sansa and Arya Stark
    • “When the cold wind blows, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.”
  • Summer and Nymeria direwolves

Reunions

  • Arya Stark reunites with Gendry Baratheon as well as Jon Snow.
  • Sansa Stark reunites with the Hound.
  • Tyrion Lannister reunites with Tysha, wherever whores go.

Other Events

  • The Night King is revealed once a Stark, "[mayhaps Brandon,] the brother of the man who brought him down.”
  • Jon Snow learns he is Aegon Targaryen, son to Rhaegar Targaryen and rightful heir to the Iron throne.
  • Daenerys Targaryen rides Drogon and Jon Snow rides Rhaegal.
  • Daenerys Targaryen weds (as per a formally recognized union) Jon Snow.
  • Wearing Ghost’s body, Jon Snow is revealed a skinchanger.
  • Jaime Lannister regains competency as a swordsman with his left and only hand.
  • More is written on Jaime Lannister’s page in the White Book (the Book of the Brothers).
  • Tyrion Lannister finally inherits Casterly Rock.
  • Theon Greyjoy wins Iron Islands.
  • Jorah Mormont is forgiven. He would also inherit Bear Island.
  • Samwell Tarly becomes a Maester.
  • Brandon Stark masters harnessing old magic and power in living wood.
  • Kings of Winter: within the crypts of Winterfell, the stone kings who sit their throne shall rise.
  • Lady Stoneheart (undead Catelyn Stark) is finally revealed.
  • Meaning behind the name Winterfell is unveiled.

This would actually have been kind of a cool way for him to go.
