It would have been far too cumbersome for use as an actual warship, not to mention a resource-hog since the crew it would require could instead crew several smaller, more effective ships. Certainly, even something like Lord Tywin is only going to more effective than having eight 100 oar warships a very small amount of the time, which is one of the reasons that the largest war galleys we know were used in battles were I believe tens not forties Lord Tywin might have ten rowers per row. Its only the greyjoys who say they dont pay for anything....... and even then they are full of it! The ironborn buy and trade, hell they do better when not rebelling + raiding but trade like grown ups.

Shipbuilders rarely export wood, in fact actual riots have been started because shipyards refused to give needed supplies to the ships legimately docked there so the crews came and took them. if the ironborn are buying wood its from the north, they aren't using it and they are culturally much closer to the ironborn than they are the southrons. in fact the north would probably let the ironborn set up a logging operation there if they paid the relevant taxes and fees for use of the land. Id say there would be wood sold in the arbor and lannisport for sure. The massive redwyne fleet would need wood and their grape fields would produce knarly knotted poor wood for boats (they do produce peaches but probably limited trees and not for cutting) so their would be merchants selling wood brought in, so the ironborn iron mine owners and shipbuilders would have to bid for and buy it alongside the rewyne shipbuilders vassals and anyone else who wants it for houses etc...same in lannisport which would probably have a lot of wood brought in for the mines. I doubt either place would be selling it to the ironborn, if for no other reason than the others could out bid them

Id doubt there would be such a lumber shortage that there would be bidding wars plus many an ironborn captain/lord could possibly outbid his greenlander cointerpart..itl depend on which specific lords and how their fianaces are at any given time. Also for the shipbuilder material merchants they may have trade deals with ironborn trade wood for other raw materials from the ironborn mines, super cheap prices as the ironborn have 'extra low wages' for the workers there!!! Also id suspect the ironborn rare plunder from raids far east is either traded in lannisport , iron island ports or arbour with westeros merchants (middle men to so high lords can get luxury objects at a steal pricewise....literaly) or melted down and sold on.
