duckman Posted June 20, 2008 Share Posted June 20, 2008 I've been thinking about starting this thread for a while now, mostly because I'm slowly completing my collection of GRRM's stories first appearances and got to wondering what other rarities are out there. I think it might also be a good place to let people know about anything that pops up on E-bay or ABE, etc. to help others find the items they're looking for. Now, this isn't for limited editions, which already have their own threads, but for other odd items that can include artwork, proofs/ARCs, older comics or anything else people may have they want others to know about. I'll start it off with something that I just recently picked up. Does anyone else have any of these? I do have some pretty beat up copies of "Star-Studded Comics #7 and #8", but there's others like "YMIR #2", "BATWING #3" and "THE COMIC WORLD NEWS" that I haven't even been able to find pictures of. It seems to be the same pages as this [url="http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn126/d_uckman/got.jpg"]AGoT proof[/url], but unbound. Most of the stuff I found by buying a couple of old fanzines on EBay then chasing up the sellers to see if they had any more. I've also got the edition of Comics World News he drew the cover for, and got George to sign it at Boscon a couple of years ago. A few other Comics World News as well, they're not too rare. Other odd stuff....well, he had a letter published in Fantastic Four #something. Plus the proofs for the Tuf Voyaging limited I won for the first trivia contest. I'm sure others out there would want to get a look. It's good to know that these fanzines are still out there somewhere. I haven't really been a comic collector, but some of the artwork in these fanzines is unbelievable. I'd really like to see what the Comic World News issues look like.
