murphy
I received an email purporting to be from this form saying I had requested my password. I hadn't and being paranoid, I didn't click on any links. Just came here and saw everything was all right. Then on another forum, I saw this article:http://siblog.mcafee.com/consumer/consumer-threat-alerts/facebook-password-reset-scam-threatens-computers-worldwide/What's up, Ran. Ran
Unfortunately, what happens is that people can forge headers. They can claim to be sending e-mail from whatever site they want, and many mail servers just pass it on through. There's nothing we or anyone can do to prevent this sort of thing. It's a common approach for phishing tactics. If you'd like, please forward the mail to [email protected]. I'd be interested in examining the headers to see the origin of the message.
