Rickeen Baratheon
"If it came to that, the life of some child I did not know, against Robb and Sansa and Arya and Bran and Rickon, what would I do? Even more so, what would Catelyn do, if it were Jon’s life, against the children of her body? He did not know. He prayed he never would."I always loved this line from Ned, because it really does reflect what many readers fail to recall. He does not know. Given that situation, he doesn't know what he'd do, or Cat. He is not the paragon everyone believes him to be. He is far more complex also, which is good.
