The_Quiet_Wolf
Looking at this passage again makes me think of one of Mel's visions in the flames. I don't have the text in front of me, but it went something like "there was a man who was a wolf, and then a man, and then a wolf again. Obviously wargs are connected to their animals, and this connection is especially strong between man and wolf, as stated by Varamyr in the prologue. This means that when Jon is warging Ghost, he is Ghost as much as he is himself. I think the math seems wrong because he is not referring to the direwolves, but the surviving Stark children, IMO. The Starks that Jon/Ghost can sense are Sansa, Rickon and Arya (with Jon included in this). However, he cannot sense Bran as he has gone beyond the Wall, and the spells that have been cast to protect Westeros keep Jon/Ghost blind to Bran.
