The animals Syrio has seen (page 512)

Syrio mentions several animals he has seen return on ships to Braavos. He mentions Striped horses (guessing Zebras), Great spotted things with necks as long as stilts (guessing Giraffes), Hairy mouse pigs as big as cows (guessing Hippos), Stinging manticores (haven't a clue for this one), Tigers that carry their cubs in a pouch ( Describes a marsupial of some description but not sure.) and Terrible walking lizards with scythes for claws (Guessing Komodo dragon). It's great how George has captured how a medieval person would describe creatures that come from elsewhere on ships.

Manticores are mythological creatures in their own right. You can look them up, or find out a little more about them on ASoS and AFfC.

The "striped horses" are called zorses in the East, as you may find out in Dany chapters, and by the description given, they are as big as horses, not proper real-world zebras.

Anyway, yeah, the way GRRM captions the ignorance (or pseudo-science) of a less advanced era and accordingly to what has been available throughout the eras in a fictional world is really amazing. I wish I could write half as well as him.
