Quick question about tyrion while he's in pentos...

He seems to have been released by his brother Jamie... But now while he's in pentos, he's made statements on two occasions so far that suggest he's planning on killing his sister and his brother both. I'm just wondering if I missed something, or will this be explained later

I believe you missed/forgot about the part when Jaime told Tyrion the truth about Tysha, his former wife.

Tyrion married Tysha when he was 13. When Tywin heard, he ordered Jaime to tell Tyrion that she was a whore that he had hired for him, and let the guards "take" her. Afterwards, he also made Tyrion take her.

After Jaime released Tyrion, he told him that she wasn't really a whore, thus explaining Tyrion's anger.

I thought he already knew she wasn't a whore. When he told Bron and shae about her in the tent, I thought he explained it was a set up.

Or did he still think she was a whore the whole time when she really wasn't?

Tyrion originally fell in love with Tysha and married her. After two weeks, his father found out and had Jaime lie to Tyrion, claiming Tysha was a whore all along that Jaime had bought to move Tyrion into manhood. This was a lie - Tysha was exactly what she appeared, a common girl who fell in love with Tyrion. Jaime simply facilitated his father's lie, and he admits this to Tyrion when he frees him from the Black Cells in a Storm of Swords.

Are u sure?

I thought the whole reason Tywin was angry was because he married a whore.

What was he upset about to the point of having her gang raped?

And wouldn't it be pretty obvious if a girl wasnt a whore WHILE the gang rape was happening?

Why would Jamie tell tyrion at all? I don't see what good could come of it. And I feel like tyrion would have mentioned it while confronting his dad with the cross bow....

I guess I'll have to reread it. I don't remember anything being said on the topic in the chapter tyrion escapes in.

Tysha was the love of Tyrion's life. Tyrion trusted Jaime, since Jaime was the only direct family member who had shown him affection. Cersei had lied and manipulated everything in the trial to get Tyrion killed - he's planning her death for that.

Jaime lied about who and what Tysha was. This led to Tyrion allowing Tysha to be raped multiple times - after which he raped her himself. Tysha was then send away from Tyrions life. It was a horrible thing done to Tysha, the only woman Tyrion believes who has ever loved him for who he was.. - During the time he is in Pentos, Tyrion is angry enough with Jaime to have thoughts on killing him for it.

And you should definitly reread the scene where Tyrion confronts Tywin. They certainly discuss Tysha ;)

Tywin was not angry at Tyrion for marrying a whore. He was angry because Tyrion married a common girl, not a lady from a noble house.

PS you're in the wrong forum. This topic should be in the ADWD or general forum, not the AFFC forum.
