  1. Travex means what lie did Ned use for Lyanna's death, if we assume she in fact died as a result of childbirth. Its quite an interesting question actually, because Ned obviously couldn't say that she gave birth and died
  2. Stannis recieves no reinforcements or extra ships in the books. Salladhor Saan doesn't abandon him until after the Battle at Castle.Black, and Stannis takes only around 1500 North with him, transported by Salla, the majority of men remaining to him after the Blackwater. He leaves small garrisons to hold Dragonstone and Storm's End.
  3. :commie: :commie: I'm from slap bang in the of Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham or thereabouts  (Also, the are Newcastles all over the World, it could be Australia)
  4. I'm probably in the.minority but I thought this was a weak episode. Iron Bank scene was...well, flat and boring to me. Asha at the Dreadfort seemed pointless and acchieved next to nothing save showing the further deterioration or Reek, which could.have been done in another way. I suppose if its to set Asha up for.something else then fair enough but right now.it feels wasted. Maybe just because it was such a mystery and so hyped up, maybe not :dunno: Meereen wasnt bad. Liked that Hizdhar looks like he is going to be more fleshed out than in the books. So are we not getting Hazzea till E10 or.something then? Trial was the highlight, but couldnt make up for the rest of the episode imo
  5. Hey there  I've seen you posting here and there, you seem a very insightful person :) Welcome to the boards, enjoy your time here :grouphug:
  6. Some ideas floated around are Eastwatch (based on Mel's belief) Oldtown (based on Euron) Hardhome, and I also quite like the idea of Sea Dragon Point
  7. Didnt Bronn Tyrion and Pod meet some Dornishmen in E01, but Oberyn was already in the city? And iirc the Sellsword captains got.close to Dany in the book too, because she invited them there to talk to (which is when Mero basically calls her a whore and says he "had her" in a whorehouse in Lys)
  8. I guess Thorne and Slynt wont be best pleased when Jon and co. return then...
  9. Kind of switched off, but was Locke really the only one who went North with Jon that died? Or did I miss something?
  10. The Red Comet appears in 298 AC, shortly after Robert's death. Joffrey died on the first day of the new Century (300 AC). Obviously we don't know things down to the month, but Joffrey's reign would be about 1.5 years or so, yes, Joffrey reigned for approximately half the span of the novels
  11. In the books, the timeline is indeed 2-3 years (including Dany's first chapter or so, which iirc is before the Bran POV that kicks us off). A Dance with Dragons ends midway through 300 AC I think
  12. I posted (i think, unless the forum ate my post again) that the Bloody Gate appears to be in.the position of the Gates of the Moon from.the books, rather than as an entrance to the Vale
  13. There are summaries for all of them on the Wiki I believe. Tyrion chapter from the App is certainly there, as is Arriane and Theon. The Mercy chapter is still on GRRMs website as far as I know. There are Youtube videos of him reading the Victarion chapter. I believe Rhaenys_Targaryen was also doing the Barristan summaries for the wiki
  14. I think most of the acting in this episode was strong actually. The only two I wasnt that impressed with are LF and Dany/Emilia. They seemed much weaker than the others this episode. (I'm not a big fan of LF's actor at all this season actually)
  15. Well, word travels between Kings Landing and Meereen quickly, one would almost think they were neighbours  So in the space of 2-3 episodes, Dany has learned that Joffrey is dead and the SC knows Dany is remaining in Slavers Bay. Yet Asha has taken 5-6 episodes to sail around westeros  I think the geography of the Vale might be changed in the show maybe... The Bloody Gate seems to have almost replaced the Gates of the Moon?
  16. Welcome to the boards  I hope you have nothing planned for the next rest of your life some time, because you shall quickly become addicted to the site :p Also, I love the avatar, sheer brilliance
  17. Reading "The Iron King" by Maurice Druon, which GRRM is certainly a fan of. Its historical fiction, and in this, Marguerette (spelling?) and her cousin Blanche are cukolding their husbands, the future King Louis, and Louis' younger brother Charles. M's other cousin, Jeanne, is aiding them with the affair by carrying messages and being an alibi. Bears striking similarities to Margaery and her cousins, who are said to have taken lovers, and one of the cousins is supposedly just there to "assist." :) Also, one of those who accuse the cousins is their sister in law, Queen Isabella, who if memory serves me right has an affair herself, which is a parallel to Queen Cersei, who is mother-in-law to Margaery, and has accused her of the crimes she is guilty of herself
  18. An understatement if ever I read one :lol:And welcome to the boards, enjoy your new addiction  :D
  19. Welcome Vetur Kemur  That is indeed a more interesting way of saying Winter is coming :) Enjoy your new forum life
  20. I have some information that should probably be added to the SSM page, that GRRM recently disclosed. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
  21. This will explain it all :P
