J.J. Jameson: Not much to compare but I can't see anyone beating J.K. Simmons - in fact even though I know they have not done it and won't do it, I think it would have been the best move for Sony/Marvel to sign him up for the role again in the reboot, make a statement that it's still a reboot, just the same actor playing the role in a different continuity. To hell with being afraid of audience confusion, it'd sill be an awesome move and I think only benefit the franchise.

Connery is still my favorite Bond.

I have no doubt that will be the case for most serious Bond fans.

For me, I loved the movies that I saw growing up, but I started right in the Moore era. First Bond movie I saw as a kid was a Moore one, Octopussy, so was the first one I saw in the theater, A View To A Kill. I thought they were fun. Saw the Timothy Dalton ones in the theater and thought they were great, then saw Goldeneye which I liked but then afterwards got turned off of Bronson in the subsequent films. Then saw Casino Royale in the theater and felt it was a masterpiece.

So I've never really seen a Connery Bond film from beginning to end, even the closest I've come to that was Never Say Never Again which is kind of non canon. I never read any of Flemming's books. If I was a dedicated Bond fan I may have gone back and watched every movie, read some or all the books, Connery may well have turned out to be my favorite, but I never got past enjoying the franchise in a mostly casual way.
