This looks like it might be a subtle reminder for not-as-obsessive readers as where House Blackfyre comes from, so they aren't going "Who? What?" when the Golden Company shows up.

I don't see Davos suddenly breaking with Stannis, he's way too loyal. And with Aurane Waters and the Iron Fleet (the fleet the Qartheen give her in the spoiler chapter), Dany has all the ships she needs.

Well, with Waters' fleet gone, and Redwyne's fleet on the other side of the continent fighting the Ironborn, Stannis could sail Manderly's fleet into Kings' Landing under subterfuge (if he's willing to use subterfuge).

And by killing Stannis' hand he's alienated Stannis! Unless, you all believe Davos is still alive.

I'd love for Stannis to get Wyman's ships and all, but I'm not sure how he can manage it as long as Wyman's heir is captive. People tend to have a thing for their sons.

Ah that makes sense. Illyrio and Varys have guys spreading rumors of Griff's real-ness. I wonder if/when the truth comes out, what Dany would do with her pretend nephew? edit: Crap, can't believe I said brother. /rage

The mystery of Young Griff deepens. Like, clearly Young Griff is gonna be an Aegon, but now the question is, is GRRM making it obvious so we fall for it, when in truth he's a fake, or is he making it obvious to make us think that Young Griff is a fake, when in fact he's real!?

I find it interesting that GRRM originally had Jon hang him instead of do it the Stark way. Clearly GRRM forgot that Jon is supposed to be Ned's son.

Whoa cool, although, I don't think the spoiler box is necessary since you know, this is the ADwD forum. Does Jon do it while Slynt is kneeling, or does he just do some awesome kungfu and take it off while Slynt is standing?
