  1. Adults get to impersonate others without getting a swap. Howland Reed for example gets to be High Sparrow and Shadrich the Albino Mouse and Benjen is Daario and Hooded Man, Rhaegar and Arthur Dayne both take turns for Qhorin Halfhand and Mance.
  2. Which would be very poor writing considering no character in Dorne knows about it and Viserys doesn’t mention it, not to mention the fact Dany has a Tyroshi accent.
  3. This is possible but I’ll go with my idea because you can never have too many baby swaps.
  4. Are we even sure if it was truly Renly? What if real Renly died at the siege of SE and someone switched him without Stannis noticing? Neither of the Big B boys were too caring of their little brother so it is possible that someone bought and conditioned a Baratheon looking westerosi boy to think himself as Renly and they didn’t even notice.
  5. So were the seven powerless to defend Renly?
  6. Indeed. Just as they saw fit Renly’s untimely demise. Whether it was due to them choosing Stannis as their divine champion or just like the FoT7’s real life counterpart that homosexuality is a grievous sin(that is unless you are a septon of course, septons can diddle boys all they like without getting smitten), I can’t tell.
  7. Lemon - Wikipedia It says Lemon requires a minimum temperature of around 7 °C I very much doubt that Braavos goes much colder than that for much of the years with no winter around.
  8. What is a short winter for Tyrion would be much worse for Gared in a place that is too far to the North especially when there are even summer snows so I really doubt it. Maesters declare the coming of winters and announce it by sending white ravens from Citadel so that everyone, at least everyone with access to maesters, learn and Castle Black has a maester.
  9. No it doesn't. It just says that Rodrik broke his shield wall, it doesn't say anywhere at all that it took multiple charges to perform it, neither does it say that Rodrik had more cavalry than Cleftjaw had infantry.
  10. Oh but they have a maester at Castle Black too, so they are in communication with the Oldtown. Also in the North they even get summer snows, while the south is all hot and sunny, what would be a short winter for the south would be much worse for the North.
  11. Half a boy is used several times and not all of them are about the persons age but the persons who are “half a boy” due to their age are Jon, Loras and Young Griff, all below 20.
  12. @Gilbert Green btw you still haven’t answered what could Ned possibly have promised to Lyanna about Daenerys who was born whatever months after the sack as we’ve explicitly been told by GRRM and what use is a Targaryen looking Westerosi when Targs have nothing speacial in their looks when compared to other Valyrians and Dany has the accent of a free city.
  13. Gared is 50ish and has been at the wall for 40 years or so. He was half a boy during the winter before the last. Just how many winters do you think he has seen?
  14. And would hopefully stay there as a concubine or whatever.
  15. Dude the point there is Gared saw 2 winters. JUST 2! When Tyrion claims several times that despite being much younger and living further south.
  16. Since unreliable narrators are currently being discussed in another thread to claim Dany isn’t who she thinks she is, I think this warrants a discussion. Which stuff comes from unreliable narrators and which from the unreliable author? How much does the unreliability of the author affects the story and the readers perception of it( ilke resulting in outlandish theories etc). For example Tyrion living in Westerlands seeing several times the winters that Gared, a man perhaps twice his age and lived most of his life in the Watch is definitely unreliable author and not unreliable narrator.
  17. Where does it say it took numerous charges or they had more heavy cavalry than ironborn had man? They had more man in total but nothing given on cavalry.
  18. Their CoA hints at them being ninth in line, just like Cassel CoA hints at being Tenth child and a bastard.
  19. Books are filled with stuff that are on par or worse. Seasons play a huge role and guess what, Tyrion in the south more winters than an old ranger who lived most of his life in the Watch. You can’t pass it off as unreliable narrator either because Tyrion tells this at a dining table full of officers of the Watch.
  20. Dany's memory is indeed off because GRRM changed her childhood city from Tyrosh to Braavos. Not being a real person but just a book character written by an author who changes a whole lot of things and forgets details despite wanting us to pay attention to them, Dany's memory got skewesd when he changed the palce from Tyrosh to Braavos. She kept the accent though
