  1. I'm persuaded. IR this year, YES.
  2. We have the whole off-season to plan for next year. I'd rather see how this year goes before deciding about next.
  3. Change me to "abstain" for now. I'm still deciding.
  4. With the Do we want to be a bit more generous with waiver pickups who are on IR but may be subject to return later in the year? Not sure, though I am sure we don't want the slots to be used for players already hurt when they are picked up - including those who are picked up early in the week and go on IR a day or two later because of an injury already known. Lastly, I'd like to remind folks, while it is still moot, in this league, once a player is cut, his contract evaporates and cannot be assumed by another owner. This is different from Keeper, where a player keeps his draft position even if dropped (that rule is in place to prevent an owner from improving the keeper slot for a player by waiving him).
  5. I am against an IR slot of any sort that wasn't pre-announced but my objection is much, much milder if a player who was on IR when the draft happened is not eligible. No Meredith, Ware, Tannehill, etc. Even though Tannehill went undrafted.
  6. If you miss a Thursday game, you can leave any point value unassigned. 1 is the only one that makes sense.
  7. We don't want to discourage early posting of contracts. You can edit your post up until the deadline.
  8. I also want to add that I think this was the best Dynasty draft I've seen over the years. Teams historically overspent on midrange veterans and left the second tier rookie prospects to be grabbed at $1 each. Not so much here. Super-steals were harder to find. I hope I got one or two. But even those were $2-4 not $1.
  9. My draft decisions were made explicitly with the knowledge that players who'd played the night before were eligible AND the knowledge that an IR player would eat a regular slot. The value of IR players was generated in a market wherein the knowledge that part of the cost of getting them was giving up a slot. With different rules, they had different values. In that vein, The Harlaw Ironmen are pleased to tentatively offer the following contracts. These contracts will become finalized as edited before the last player has declared contracts. Harlaw Ironmen 1. (4) Vance McDonald (Pit - TE) $2 (1 year contract) 2. (10) Alex Smith (KC - QB) $10 (1 year contract) 3. (24) Leonard Fournette (Jax - RB) $26 (3 year contract) 4. (29) Cam Newton (Car - QB) $26 (1 year contract) 5. (36) Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K) $4 (1 year contract) 6. (60) Kyle Rudolph (Min - TE) $3 (4 year contract) 7. (69) Mike Gillislee (NE - RB) $16 (1 year contract) 8. (97) Evan Engram (NYG - TE) $3 (4 year contract) 9. (119) Buffalo (Buf - DEF) $4 (1 year contract) 10. (120) James Conner (Pit - RB) $4 (4 year contract) ----------------------------------------------------- 11. (205) Paxton Lynch (Den - QB) $3 - 2 more years 12. (206) Duke Johnson Jr. (Cle - RB) $5 - 1 more year 13. (207) Michael Thomas (NO - WR) $2 - 2 more years 14. (208) Jameis Winston (TB - QB) $10 - 1 more year 15. (209) Isaiah Crowell (Cle - RB) $3 - 1 more year 16. (210) Delanie Walker (Ten - TE) $2 - 1 more year 17. (211) DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR) $2 - Contract Expiring - Safe Travels, Nuk! 18. (212) A.J. Green (Cin - WR) $37 - Contract Expiring 19. (213) Rishard Matthews (Ten - WR) $2 - 2 more years 20. (214) Keenan Allen (LAC - WR) $25 - 1 more year 21. (215) Jordan Howard (Chi - RB) $1 - 2 more years 22. (216) Rob Kelley (Was - RB) $1 - 2 more years
  10. I say we add one IR slot next year. Not this one.
  11. I am not seeing any sign of these changes on the website.
  12. This game convinced me to put maximum value on New England to win every week. Lost my 15 point game and could not be happier. I'll tank this league GLADLY to see them 0-16.
  13. You can do that but it makes no sense. If you want to cut him, cut him now. It will cost you the dollar but you can spend a dollar to get a flyer that might pay off. Sadly, Yahoo does not keep our contracts for us.
  14. Manhole and I have a trade. We're doing the discussed AJ Green for TY Hilton trade. No dollars change hand except for the differences in salary. Salary is the one and only reason this deal makes sense. AJ is at or at least very near market value. Hilton is well below. And he has a far greater need to fill his roster with the 5-10 dollar guys that make him competitive down the road.
  15. It is my understanding Week 1 will be retroactively scored by the commish and KC/NE players will be eligible.
  16. I too am cool with allowing that. And that offer seems WONDERFUL in my opinion. I suspect the fella that made it is charming, handsome and wise. Truth is, Hilton is not supposed to add much value to that deal. It's just that Green is a useful piece for a team playing to win this year and I fear that is not you. If you look at the draft in Keeper, the guys who went after round 11 are going to be in the 2-10$ range. Those extra 31 bucks can likely get you four or five of them, locked down with four year deals that will become huge bargains. In the unsolicited advice column, I'd recommend that those unfamiliar with this format refrain from offering long-term contracts to the top ten or fifteen players in the draft. The way to win (and I've done very well in this format over the years) IMO is to have a bunch of super cheap guys and then the cap space to buy the stars that can be bought. If you look at my keepers, you see me reaping the rewards of this strategy. My biggest mistakes are having given Allen a long deal and giving up a tiny bit too soon (by weeks) on Kirk Cousins. When I drafted Jordan Howard last year for $1, Langford looked like the future in Chicago. And my thought was give all of your $1 prospects with potential four year deals and just factor your failure rate into the cost of those who succeed.
  17. One thing that may be confusing the newcomers is that the site is showing your full roster from last season. You only have keeper rights to the players listed here. The rest of your roster consists of players with expired contracts or who were free agent pickups and those guys cannot be kept.
  18. Sir?!! Sir?! Is this the Marines or Westeros!? Tis SER, to be sure.
  19. The guys for one year are already under contract for the coming draft and if you cut them, you pay for the 1/3 penalty (rounded up, each time for each guy). But no future penalties accrue. And Expanded roster 2QB, 3RB, 4WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DT.
  20. IIRC, it was 1-2 (first), 3-4,(2nd), 5-9 (2 earlier), 10-{14?} (3 earlier) 15+ (4 earlier). IIRC. FA were round 6. I remember picking a Defense or a Kicker in round 8 because I knew I'd want to keep a FA with my 6th. I am totally in.
  21. Thanks. I had fun. I am looking forward to the draft next year. Great job keeping it all together. This is by far the most complicated league to run.
  22. Thanks. It was close. Your team stepped up in the playoffs for sure. And Congrats to Race. His team actually scored the most points in the final two rounds. I was lucky to sneak past him in the semifinals.
  23. To the extent I have a draft strategy, it is "Do not give long term contracts to market value players. Give five long shots each a 4 year deal and one of them will make it worth eating the contracts of the other four". I am really liking the idea of Jordan Howard, Rob Kelley and Michael Thomas for three more years at cut rates.
  24. My memory is that playoff teams can trade with each other and eliminated teams can trade with each other but that we can't cross the boundary.
