  1. That made me cringe and roll my eyes at the same time. My sister thought I was having a seizure. Last time I checked, rage and insanity are two very different things. Not to say that the lines between them can't blur; they do. Any strong emotion -- love, fear, grief, joy, and anger -- can veer into the realms of insanity. But frankly, I don't see anything wrong with Daenerys setting the Red Keep on fire at this point. Everyone and everything in Westeros over the last two seasons (especially this one) seems to have made it their personal mission to push Daenerys Stormborn over the edge. It looks like they are going to get exactly what they were asking for...
  2. This is the best Game of Thrones has been in a very long time.
  3. That's why I don't rate an episode until I've waited to see the episode at least twice. Once by itself and once after binging the previous episodes.
  4. It's been one of the weakest parts of the show because D&D failed to make it strong. It's that simple. Like seriously? What was the issue between the Night King and the Three-Eyed Raven? How did the Children lose control of the Night King? How was the Night King defeated to begin with? What's the connection between the old gods and weirwood trees to be exact? Hell, by the end of it, we were seeing huge inconsistencies on how to destroy the zombies. As for the prophecies? Well, these prophecies have been hyped up a lot since season 2. They "forgot" about them for a while after season 5 only to bring them back up out of nowhere in season 7 with this huge discussion on is it Daenerys or Jon. And then they just chuck it all out of the window?!
  5. I know it's about Sansa and Littlefinger. I'm just saying that the showrunners paid homage to that prophecy by having Lady Mormont slay giant in the Winterfell yard during a blizzard.
  6. I agree: I think that the story of R+L=J is actually a very long and a little complicated. And more people will care about it.
  7. A major departure? Why not say several major departures? Plural.
  8. The MVPs in this episode: Daenerys Arya Theon Melisandre Honorable mentions are the Mormonts Lyanna and Jorah, Grey Worm, AeJon, the Hound, Beric Dondarrion and Tyrion believe it or not. Unlikely. I think that's yet another plotline that's going to get dropped
  9. You would think so. Dragonfire is different from normal fire. Speaking of dragons, can we talk about how much of a BAMF Daenerys was in this episode. I've always known that Daenerys would take up a sword and get her Xena Warrior Princess on. One of Bran's visions in his last chapter is of Daenerys executing a man with a sickle (in other words, a Dothraki arakh). What took so long?
  10. You would think so. Dragonfire is different from normal fire.
  11. Lady Stoneheart is still her mother. If Lady Stoneheart is revenge personified, why would she be lurking around the Riverlands looking for Arya and/or Sansa with Robb's crown? Wouldn't she just be focused on killing Freys, Lannisters and Boltons? It has to be. Honestly, the problem of the army of the dead in the TV show (while I am satisfied) was solved way too easily. And there is a lot more to the White Walkers/the Others than what D&D cared to show. They never really explained the connection between the old gods, the Children of the Forest and the Three Eyed Raven. Nor did they explain Night King's obsession with Bran. I'm thinking the location will be different too.
  12. Apparently, according to D&D, 20 good men is all she needs.
  13. Euron is trash in the show. He's a bit campy in the books yes -- the Captain Jack Sparrow of the series -- but I think he's written like that on purpose. Things will change. Notice how Euron's most campiest moments come from the point of view of Victarion. Because when it's from Aeron's POV, Euron acts (or, rather, gets described and portrayed) completely different. That's done on purpose. Euron is clearly the big bad. What with his political acumen, his fighting prowess and his magic powers. Euron is a triple threat.
  14. But one thing I did like was how they took the "maid slays a giant in a castle of snow" prophecy from A Storm of Swords and give it to Lady Mormont. I did expect more out of Sansa this episode. Sansa in the crypts was supposed to be an inverse of Cersei in Maegor's Holdfast during the Blackwater.
  15. If something similar to this happens, Bran will likely be in the weirwood net or having a green fever dream where he's seeing a lot of interesting stuff in the past or elsewhere in the present happen. But because the showrunners are trash at plotting, they failed to follow through and develop these powers so that Bran would have something to do other than just sit there.
  16. I always knew Arya would slay the Great Other or whoever tf I always knew it. She's been specifically trained to fight unconventionally But she's definitely not the Prince that Was Promised. The Prince that Was Promised looks like it's going to be yet another dropped plotline
  17. Daenerys is not angry at all in this scene. So these Mad Queen theories based on scenes like this are bogus to me. As a matter of fact, Daenerys' reaction is more credible than Jon's reaction. I understand (parts of) the opposite end of the argument. We are supposed to watch the kids of the show (particularly Bran, Arya and Sansa but Jon, Samwell, Daenerys, Robb and Rickon too) grow up. While we have watched them grow up physically, the only one who we have watched grow up completely and become an actual adult is Sansa. And we all know how that wentprocess went. Like Bran in the books. He has a massive crush on Meera that - now that he is getting older - is becoming more and more sexual. As a matter of fact, where we left off with Bran, he was sorely tempted to use Hodor's body and approach and hold Meera. Arya has been terribly one-note since season 4. All she has ever wanted was killing. I get it
  18. I agree; it was a little forced but in comparison to the other forced or out-of-character moments, this felt better so I can rock with it. I feel like that this a major character beat from the novels for Arya. GRRM has already confirmed that Arya is going to flower in Winds which in their often-backwards world means that she is no longer a girl but a maiden. Not quite a woman grown but old enough to consent to sex and marriage ostensibly. It might not be with Gendry (very likely) but Arya is definitely not going to die or survive the series a virgin.
  19. Why does it feel like I'm the only one who didn't have a problem with Arya having sex? She's obviously not an eleven year old girl anymore.
  20. This episode wasn't bad. But it couldn't be called good either. Time constraints of the showrunners' own creation. The showrunners had a chance to simplify the story but apparently simplifying it meant urinating in a wineglass and calling it vintage. For the record, I think Theon, Arya and Tyrion are going to die in the books and the TV show so...
  21. The way people treat Daenerys is pitiful. She's not a picture-perfect Mary Sue type heroine. She's going to be a bit ruthless and scary in the next couple of books (she really tried) but...come on, give me a break. How can you be so forgiving in regards to Tywin Lannister and his children but call Daenerys reprehensible? Like do y'all seriously believe that Daenerys is in the same category as Ramsay Bolton,? Or are you guys just arguing that for the sake of a lively discussion.
