  1. If it's going to be a popularity contest then we should get rid of it. I don't think you have to throw the baby out with the bath water though. The thing can be rigged so that it is not a popularity contest (not anonymous, and not tied to a boarder's "reputation") without nixing the whole thing.

I don't know. I think the only value of the system is in the anonyminity. We make all votes public, and I bet we just see the same people getting hit repeatedly - the same people who are already Gen Chat punching bags in the first place.

  2. I can't think of a reason for Ramsay or Roose to want anyone, Theon or the Winterfell serving staff, to confirm the identity of the false Arya right now. Nothing will make her look more shady than a public announcement that this is the 'real' Arya Stark before anyone even questions otherwise.

If they are going to do that though, Theon might be more useful as one of the detractors, claiming that this is not Arya Stark. If he's one of the first to raise the objection, who's going to want to side with the opinion of Theon Turncloak?
  3. I don't think it really matters that much, but wasn't it that hanging was seen as a common death? I know in medieval England, nobles saw beheading as a 'nobler' form of execution. Slynt is lowborn, so he received the lowborn form of execution.

ETA; Actually scratch that idea. i just remembered Ned executed Gared by beheading him, and Gared was definitely lowborn.
  4. Tigana, Lions of Al-Rasan and Last Light of the Sun were my favourites, with the Lions nominally in the top slot. Lions and Tigana probably have the bigger stories, as far as epic events go. The story in Last Light is a lot smaller in scale and doesn't really cover any earth shaking events. The Sarantine Mosaic is good, Crispin (the protagonist) is probably my favourite Kay character. I didn't care for Fionnavar at all.
