  1. I previously heard a number of complaints about the Rains of Castamere as sung at the end, but when I first heard it (before the episode aired) my immediate thought was they were trying for a very Leonard Cohen-type rendition, that air of world weariness Cohen imbues in his songs. And the n hearing it at the end of the episode (ahem, three times) really brought out that weariness/wariness of what war and death are all about. IMHO.
  2. She definitely said 4. In the books she and Jaime are 9 years older, so Tyrion has been aged up, which seems like more rehab is going to be done to Cersei's character. The Red Viper tells Tyrion about how Cersei twisted baby Tyrion's penis: certainly a 4 year old won't be doing that. I hope. :ack:
  3. I've been trying to tell you, Rockroi, how much I've enjoyed your summaries, but Error 500 and 503 keep wiping me out, lol! Another excellent summary!
  4. Watching the second time around, of course, Tommen is there. They didn't send him to safety!
  5. Wow, yet another first poster! Welcome to Westeros, and my God, read the books. The HBO series leaves out way, way to much, Creepy Crawl, the books are amazing.
  6. It's referred to in various places, but mainly, I think, in AFFC and ADWD. Check the Wiki, it will quote the chapters.
  7. Looks like just a scar, though, no nose removed. Nice shot of the aftermath of the explosion of the wildfire, the look of horror on everyone's face, Bronn, Tyrion and Sandor, while Joffrey is grinning and the pyromancer is smug. Another strange fact change - Cersei says her mother died when she was 4? Did I misunderstand? Are they changing Tyrion's age? There should be a 9 year difference.
  8. What I really liked about the episode was how smart Tyrion ends up being - the right gate, the right plan, the wildfire, the right attitude. For those who have not read the books, the message is delivered very clearly.
  9. Who did Sandor walk in with in the scene with Bronn? Is that someone we should know?
  10. Overall, awesome, but there are nitpicks. Even If GRRM did write it. I would think time constraints reduced the SanSan scene. But so many SanSan scenes have been reduced that I wonder if he has had a change of heart over what he originally wrote.
  11. Again, what's with the sympathetic Cersei. She was a friggin B***H in the book, not a sympathetic, fond mother. That is big time disappointing.
  12. Yes, the doll scene was good, but they dropped the rest of the scene. WTF.
  13. I thought, this scene with San San will be better than the book, but they dropped the ball. Big time.
  14. Sandor - not so drunk as in the book, Better speech, I think. "You won't hurt me." Oh fuck. No song. No hope for an imagined kiss. Oh fuck. They fucked the scene.
  15. "Those are brave men knocking at our door . . . lets go kill them!"
  16. I hear shouts, where's the king . . . .and there's Pod! Yeah!
  17. Nasty scene with Sandor, Joffrey and Tyrion, more telling than in the book
