  1. One issue I have is that the writers are using modern phrases too often. When someone says, "he disrespected me", or Tywin says, "give us the room", it jars me out of the story.
  2. I gave it a 10, though Dany is beginning to annoy me...and far earlier than she started annoying me in the books. Reviewing the reviews? What will they think of next?
  3. Enjoyed it tremendously. Brienne's reaction to Renly's death was perfect. While straying a bit from the book, the goings on at Harrenhal, told the story well and provided a lot of story in limited time. The Greyjoy stuff was handled well. You could see the workings of Theon's mind without his having to say anything. Nicely done.
  4. For the first time, I gave an episode a 10. Harrenhal was outstanding. Melisandre's shadow was awesome. Showing that the result of battle isn't pretty gave the show realism. Tyrion, as usual, was so much fun to watch. The scene with Joffrey and the whores, though not really necessary, fit my, "anything that makes people hate Joffrey, is good", criteria.
  5. This was the best episode of the season. It moved smoothly. I thought Brienne was perfectly cast and played. Unlike some, I think Asha/Yara is very much as I pictured her. I could never imagine any Greyjoy as looking beautiful.
  6. I gave it a 9. I loved this episode. Tyrion was outstanding. Brienne of Tarth was a pleasant surprise. The ambush of the Yoren's people was flawless. I'm going to miss Yoren. The best episode, so far.
  7. Finished book 5. Started book 1, again. Watching season 2. No wonder I'm confused.

  8. Thank you for that explanation. It makes sense. I keep forgetting we are two countries separated by a common language.
  9. So folks can confuse Yara with Arya....right. Why do TV people think audiences are so dumb? Oh, wait...
  10. Why did they change Asha Greyjoy's name to Yara? I can almost understand last season's change of Robert Arryn to Robin Arryn because they thought the audience couldn't figure out two characters with the same first name, but why change Asha???
  11. I gave it a 7. I was feeling generous because the scenery at Pike was done wonderfully. Otherwise, it played like a soap opera. The scenes with Davos were excellent. The LF/Roz scene was worthless. Otherwise, too much was changed from the book, in the interest of getting to the "good stuff" sooner within a 10 episode season. Maybe I was too generous.
  12. If I were to evaluate the episode on things like variation from the book or Melisandre's hair wasn't red enough, it would be a 7, but I enjoyed it too much, so I gave it an 8.
  13. Let me drink to Tyrion Lannister. He calls a dwarf, a dwarf and a bastard, a bastard. No politically correct stuff like height-challenged or love child from him.

  14. Finished book 4 and started book 5. GRRM, get a move on. I'm gaining on you. :-)

  15. Enjoying the Season 1 GoT blu ray, while waiting for season 2 to begin

  16. Read my sig and stop assuming I'm saying something I'm not.

  17. I have a blog with linked Facebook and Twitter accounts. Just started it with the idea of commenting on all things Ice and Fire, from a different point of view, that of a bastard from Casterly Rock. I don't think Lord Tywin would approve. :drunk: Robin Hill It seemed like a fun thing to do. Everyone is welcome to take a look. Just remember it is only a couple of days old and I'm still trying to pull everything together. EDIT: I got more grandiose, got a domain name and made the entry site a hub for the blog, twitter, facebook, google+, etc., here
  18. Hello, m'Lords, m'Ladies, good Sers, and those without titles. I'm more than half way through the third of the series and must say this looks like a pleasant place to converse with those of similar likings.
