  1. Ah, a Bill avatar. I had enough senseless tragedy for one night, ser...!
  2. Ramsay's attack was a success (even if it didn't make a lick of sense). I predict the NW and wildlings will have a fight or something, Jon's plan will look more like a failure and then Ramsay's will send the Pink Letter.
  3. Shireen. Shireen. Even if Shireen is sacrificed in books, I highly doubt Stannis will be the one to give the orders. I'm not particularly fond of her character but damn was that hard to watch. Still, while this episode wasn't as good as last weeks, it was a good one. I really wanted to see Dany tame Drogon like she does in the books but it was great to see her ride him. The whole scene in Daznak's pit was done well. Thank everything Arya doesn't get all sexual just to get to Meryn Trant. Up until now her arc was the most faithful to the books while Dorne... it was actually good this episode!
  4. That would have been interesting. Jon does take two dead men back to the Wall to see if they come back to life as wights so it would fit with what we know of in the books. Still, he was in a rush like you said. I don't think their weapons would be as effective as Valyrian steel is but I don't think they would shatter like common steel would. Basically it would be like common steel versus common steel.
  5. Right. Neither did I. This doesn't make sense. I think you need to go back and re-read the discussion.
  6. You're more than welcome to check my post history and see all of the criticisms I've made toward the show. It's not all positivity. In this case, Olly as Jon's squire makes sense. What I don't like is how obvious it is Olly is going to do something dramatic. I wouldn't be surprised if Jon went down cursing Olly's "sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
  7. No, I don't. I haven't forgotten Jon or Sam or Satin's stories. Olly proved himself more than capable during the battle. The boy is not unintelligent. I'm sure Jon chose him for a variety of reasons. Perhaps he wants him close to train him and maybe even to raise him. It's not an illogical choice. Interestingly enough, there were better candidates for the position of Lord Commander but Sam schemed to put Jon there. In all cases, I accept what has happened and move on. I don't make lame japes about huehuehue zombies which really has no bearing on anything.
  8. ... and so was Jon? Sam was rushed through the training process as well (at Jon's behest). But hey, let's keep forgetting what happened in the books just to complain, and all that.
  9. Oh! No, I don't think there's more to it. Olly is having a crisis of conscience right now and it will lead to him betraying Jon.
  10. Depends on what kind of immortality we're talking here ;). Angel was an awesome show and he was a vampire. But immortality and invulnerability... Well, that's just no fun.
  11. You've read books and still expect to be surprised that someone is going to betray Jon? Olly pls.
  12. They are building towards something with his character. I just dont like how quickly he is willing to turn on Jon. Perhaps we are wrong and he wont join the Ides but I doubt it.
  13. Who is trying to censor you? I've spoken nothing about censorship. As I said pages back, the bitterness became unbearable. The hatred became too much and yes I still see insults. I'm not trying to censor anyone. You can rant and rave without reprecussion. It's your party, cry if you want to. Youre right. Ive spoken my peace. Great episode. I wonder if Tyrion threw Jorah under the bus or if he has a plan to win him back.
  14. There. That's all I'm saying. End of discussion.
  15. "For the most part" I wasn't just talking about the name calling which is why I brought up the lack of respect in general. It's not the same. The scene comes as a climax to the episode as a whole, as a turning point in the battle with the white walkers and the wildlings. You can talk set design, dialogue, costumes but you cant properly critique a scene without having watched the entire episode. That's why critics watch a whole movie or TV show then they go back and analyze sequences and scenes independently.
  16. To repeat what I said earlier: the creators of the show and all involved deserve a certain level of respect. Calling D&D "Dickhead and Dumbass" shouldn't be allowed. That's childish. The hatred in R&R boils over into other threads and it just becomes tiring.
  17. She still has to unite the khalasars and then there's Qarth, Volantis and all the others marching on her. There will be plenty of battles to fight in the future. Besides, the army at her gate is a joke. The fake unsullied, the guys on stilts, those inept commanders, they ain't worth her time.
  18. In the books, Meereen is being besieged. I don't think she's going to ride back and burn the whole city, just the army at her gates. That might not even be necessary if Tyrion and Barristan clean up that rabble before she returns. I don't see why she would burn the city to the ground just to get rid of the Sons of the Harpy (in the show and the books).
  19. It appears they will get married in the next episode. They go to Daznak's Pit for their wedding reception in the books and we see Dany in the pit for next weeks trailer. I just really hope they don't do the feet-washing thing like in the books. :ack:
  20. He actually made a valid point. You can't watch one scene and say something like this: You're not watching it as a whole. Imagine if I watched one scene out of a horror movie. Imagine if I watched Lord of the Rings just for the Bridge of Khazad Dum scene. I'm not going to care about Gandalf or understand what is going on. That brings me to something I wanted to mention earlier: it's been said the battle wasn't all that great because it's just mindless "spooky skeletons" and fighting but the reason it's resonating with so many people because it's a turning point in the war fight against the Others. We've been building up to something like this for five seasons now. Not to mention it was well directed, choreographed and acted. Theories were confirmed. It was good stuff all around.
  21. (I read your full post a page back, for the record). Anyhow, I want to point out that that's exactly what the R&R thread is all about. That's what they want. You can't go into that thread and counter any argument or else people start raging and threatening to put you on their ignore list. It's strictly for people that want to criticize the show... to call D&D everything but their real names (Dumber and Dumber seems most popular) and to trash what they do as nothing more than "fanfiction" at best. While I'm not happy with all of the changes they've made, I do think they should be afforded some level of respect.
  22. This. I usually enjoy several of the posters in the Rant and Rave thread but the bitterness became unbearable. Yeah. I thought they'd talk about the impossibly heavy armor Qyburn orders like they do in the books.
  23. That was amazing. Epic. Satisfying. Perfection.
  24. I LOVED that Littlefinger's plan silenced all the criticisms against him this season. "It doesnt make sense! Dumber and Dumber dont know what theyre doing!" -- booyah. Have some patience next time. Just like when there were tons of complaints about Brienne being a bully and then she apologizes to Pod. The writers stumble and fall some times but they know what theyre doing.
