Landed Knight (6/8)

  1. Could it be Mance and the spear wives. Even though the show didn't use them, the image was too good to waste for D&D, they don't have to explain many of their other odd decisions.
  2. But what if they end up with Ribbiting Reed-Stark babies, it's not easy being green
  3. That probably means Meera is on borrowed time too? Trawling through the trolls (who aren't trolls anyway, they just happen to have an opinion so there! ) Season 2 of The Wire was excellent television, when compared to other shows. It just wasn't as compelling as the other seasons, it didn't compare as poorly to the other seasons as some episodes of GOT have, but it was still great TV, the other thing that made The Wire so good was consistency. Even relatively minor characters like Bubbles or Omar had you cheering for them, because of the high standard of writing staying high throughout. I agree with all of this post. Well put.
  4. It seems that the cock was either there to prove they are not sexist, or that the cock had a wart on it , and warts are funny, so it makes it a cock joke. Hilarious my biggest objection to all the nudity was that it was completely gratuitous, which this was too. I can see that Bennerro making cock jokes would be in character, but Tyrion is supposed to be a great wit, not a teenage boy in the playground, and the lines and probably the direction that Euron was given were all poor. Had he been more convincing in his argument, the cock joke would have been him riffing off the crowd, instead of being the thing that clinched his claim to the crown. Little finger This It's not the destination, but the journey, yes they have to change stuff, but a lot of what people have complained about has not been done well. That said there are still some great moments of TV; the wights may have cartoonish, but the actors of both Hodor and Willas packed a lot of emotion into that last scene, which raised it above 5/10 by itself for me. Hold the door
  5. I think people may have known that his expression started off as Hold the Door , but he was only saying that for a very little while before it turned into hodor, and since that is all he's said since it would be easy to forget. but the point is, no-one knew why he started saying hold the door either, even with the word "the" in the middle it makes no sense. I agree that the White walker origin scene was a bit weak, and the skeleton wights are dumb as well, if they can run around like that, then how can an arrow kill them? As for the hand grenade, perhaps, giving the benefit of the doubt, she needed to be touching it to fill it with go bang juice I thought that the casting was good for Euron, but it isn't the actor's fault they decided to give him cock jokes, and two eyes. he looks a lot like he could be Alfie Allen's uncle, there's enough similarities in their features (He looks nothing like Keith though, so maybe not), but his lines were not very convincing and he didn't have all the drama of the hornblowing.
  6. This, By the way love the expression 'certified wank' seal I thought the general tone of the play in braavos, with it's over the top acting, lionising of Joffrey, tits and farting could have been a self parody of most of Pycelles scenes in game of thrones
  7. I meant that I haven't seen an episode this season that I would rate 10.
  8. CURRENTLY, IT IS AN OFFENSE IN ENGLAND AND WALES FOR A MAN TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH A WOMAN WHO HE KNOWS TO BE HIS GRANDDAUGHTER, DAUGHTER, SISTER, OR MOTHER. IT IS ALSO AN OFFENSE FOR A WOMAN 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OVER TO PERMIT HER GRANDFATHER, FATHER, BROTHER, OR SON TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH HER BY CONSENT. Just looked it up, cousins don't count as incest in England, although it is generally thought a little odd. it isn't in many other countries around the world either.
  9. There weren't nearly as many this week that gave a 1, most of them were in the first half hour, so it feels as though some people are determined to give a 1 regardless, but I certainly haven't seen a 10 yet.. No Dorne this week though so that was probably what cut down on the 1s

  11. But Davos said in ep 1 that he has never been a fighter, and he kinda agreed with her motivation, he was never comfortable with Mel's witchcraft Shame about Osha going without doing much really, she seemed like a good character, and GRRM liked her too. Johnathan Price did an excellent job, but the material was a bit boring and overly self-righteous, I wasn't really convinced that waking up with a hangover was enough to put someone off shoes forever. It made a change to see Boobs that fit with the context and weren't entirely gratuitous. not sure why she kept her hair though. It did feel as though Little finger had just finished tying Penelope Pitstop to a railway line, didn't it? I think that by the time Dany gets back to slavers bay, Mereen will be under siege anyway, but she would probably approve of going down the peace route in general, but she has enough plausible deniability to overturn it and say no, I always wanted to kick the master's arses all along. It wold fit with Tyrion's whole story of doing what is best and getting no credit for it. I had assumed that they had spread some oil around beforehand. they had made the point earlier that it stank in there, so it is plausible to me that the Khals wouldn't have noticed anything, also, someone locked the door The look on his face was great, I know it is kinda similar to the look I'd have on my face if Brienne rode through the gates in front of me. Lots of plot movement for Dany, Jon, And Sansa. The Vale looks set to get involved too. Very little to nitpick about so I gave it just over 7 1/2, rounded up to 8. The average vote comes out at 7.3 at the moment, so it is the first time I've given above the average this season. I don't know what they are thinking with Jaime, and I'm not convinced that they do either, nor were they last year. Hopefully hell be off to Riverrun and back on track soon. things in Mereen seem to be about to start moving again, and there was no Dorne, Hopefully we'll see more of the Iron Isles next week because that seems to need a kick start.
  12. Is "your dad was a C**t" D&Ds version of all of the Manderlys' lines from the books?
  13. I liked that Arya is finally moving along, but again d&d seem to have missed the point. The waif in the books never seemed to enjoy Arya being blind, but in the show she seems almost another Joffrey. She was enjoying beating Arya, and got angry when Arya was able to, inexplicably, defend herself. She looked as if she would have killed her if Jaquen had not been there. In the books, which I know is different, but is increasingly better, part of the point of Arya's beatings was that she learned to warg, which enables her to defend herself. In the show she is just using some Deus ex machina magic ninja skills, or perhaps she got lucky once or twice, and that was enough. I personally enjoyed the Mereen scenes too. Again I prefer the way it is going in the spoiler chapters from the next book, but hey. Vary is finally being given something to do, even if it's not a lot( I was surprised to see his little birds speaking so well with no Tongues).Tyrion is struggling because he can't play to his strengths with such a tough audience, which is the most realistic his story has been since he interrupted his old man on the loo. No sand snakes. Yay!
