  1. If his dogs could scare away the freaking pirates, then 20 men can conquer Valyria... :dunno:
  2. I have a lot of practice when I give spoilers away on the streets...
  3. Oh, my sweet summer child... ...this show has no structure.
  4. There is nothing wrong with Kit portraying Jon. The problem is Jon Snow is exactly as Kit portrays it
  5. One flower doesn't make a spring. The episode seems to have been good, so what? A season is not one episode. BoobsAndGore seems to take proud in being a not-reader, yet, s/he's insulting the not-reading audience by pretending that show watchers won't mind the fact the show was last week and a couple of years before, very offensive to simply let themselves being impressive by pretty battles and shocking moments. The rankings are down now. They might recover, but not as they were two seasons ago. Sadly -for him, I mean- the books won. People are mad at the deviations not for the deviations but because they feel betrayed George's work and what he wanted to portray. So, report the troll and keep discussing. Some theories might be interesting to speculate from a readers perspective. A few of mine seem to have been either confirmed or hinted to be possible. That's all the show means for me now: I don't even feel spoiled but I rather take it as a confirmation of things to come. Personally, I haven't watch the episode. A friend of mine makes comment with me and I read here the general plotline. See? the show is so simple that I can have it lined it out via SMS :dunno: /end rant and move on.
  6. Guys, don't feed the troll. Report him/her instead. :dunno:
  7. I've always believed the Starks had made a pact with the Others. And the fact Rickard and Brandon died without been able to inform Ned -who wasn't the heir- about it could have caused them to hit South and come to claim what they want or wanted a Stark in return. Who knows, maybe Jon decides to go on his own.
  8. Wouldn't they need a body? I wonder if that means that the reason the WW are coming is because neither Rickard's or Brandon's bodies were delivered to them as they should have been.
  9. Looks like the value for this episode is that it confirmed/fuelled some of our theories... we'll have a lot to discuss, specially the heretics. :P Yes. Either because he's a Stark or because somehow, Benjen has told him about him. Maybe Benjen is there...? I like it.
  10. Without wanting to contradict the mods' orders, let me say that even if Feast and Dance had been the mediocre books many believe they are, that's not excuse for a poor adaptation. Au contraire, that would be an incentive to improve them and fix the alleged mistakes. Specially because they belong to a series of book in which the previous tomes are considered better, so it's not like someone said "oh, let's take these horrible books and make a movie/show!". Someone aware of the fandom would have taken the unpopularity of the books to turn it into a much better product and they carry on with the next instalments. That was not the case.
  11. If by "Gods" you mean D&D, we already knew that.
  12. When Septa Mordane was still on charge of her, she also "put her on her place". And then, her father died. Looks like bad things happen to Sansa after she reminds people what's "their place". I wonder how many girls put D&D on their place back on the day...
  13. Nonsense. Look at shows like Breaking Bad, House of Cards, the Following, Mad Men and similar. They aren't easy shows to watch yet, they are popular. Believing what you stated is simply assuming your audience is dumb and you treat them as such because you, as a writer, are a lazy fucktard. Of course, if I show people pretty lights they will get bedazzled, but that doesn't mean they can't appreciate a more sophisticated entertainment.
  14. The HS can both play the game of thrones and be a good man. I think he's smart enough to realise he and nobility need each other. I think I need to quote Sirius Black: people is not divided in Good guys and Death Eaters. The HS does feel he needs to do something about those hundreds of men and women who have been the real victims of the war. At the same time, he needs to let the people in power to know he has power too. That's why Cersei fall. She made herself a very easy target. There is no way he could have targeted Jaime or Margaery. Jaime is a man warrior and Margaery has the power of the Tyrells. People often forget Lancel was very young when he started to have sex with Cersei. And it wasn't only the sex. She made him kill Robert. That's a lot of guilt to carry around for someone that young. It's not like he was a seasoned warrior at that age as many other characters. He was just a squire. Not all victims are female. Male victims of abuse are not different from Lancel: how they can react is unpredictable. In fact, there is one episode of House in which a teen had sex and became a preacher out of guilt. He even claimed to talk to God or something.
  15. I suppose it's because DD believe him to be perfect as it is. He is not. That's kinda the point of him being in the Sorrows and being slaved. He realises he's not what he is due to Tywin only but due to his own actions. That whatever abuse Tywin could have committed, he had the chance to make himself a better person and he did not. He shaped himself as Tywin, despite he hated him, and wasn't able to admit it. Now he admitted he always needed his father.
  16. Yet, the guy is needed. I'm not saying it because I like him, or because I think he's like the best character ever (he's not), but at least, Jon as a character in Tyrion's storyline (before he was given a story of his own) served the purpose to remind Tyrion that, even though he killed his father, he can't escape him, hence that Tywin is not the one and only cause of his problems and woes. Jon served as a replacement father for Tyrion during his time in the Shy Maid, to the point that he was even considering to kill him as well. Yes, being around griff was unpleasant, but he was safe. And once he got himself in troubles again (due to his own actions), all he wanted was to Griff to rescue him. How is that not a parallel of his own relationship with his father?
  17. Just because it looks a bad plot to you doesn't mean the plot is bad. I liked it. Many other like it. It serves a lot for Tyrion's development as a character and helped him to understand himself and rise himself fro the bottom he got himself into it. And even when it could have had messy elements, it's definitely better than Jorah and Tyrion's amazing bro-urney. "Look, Dany! I'm the gift to save you from your stupidity!". It's not my fault that D&D and his apologists have zero idea of what themes are and how they work.
  18. Have they? We were already warned by Martin herself this will happen in the next book and even how. The man chose to spoil himself rather than let this idiots do it. Amazing. Nevertheless, considering this is, in a way, spoiler territory, I've realised how little it will affect me. Tyrion getting to Dany has been so rushed and so messy that even if they only met five minutes in the next book, I will be very excited to see how Martin develops their meeting as it will be the culmination of a longer road. It will be the same with the other storylines.
  19. It's not jealousy. It's more like Jaime has lived his life for Cersei. Even being a KG had to do with Cersei. And Cersei has lived her life while taking Jaime for granted. His sacrifices were worthy because he thought he was getting the same from her. It was not.
  20. Because every other female in the show is either a victim or a violent bitch. There is no layers.
  21. Aegon V "Egg" was Aemon's youngest brother. He became King after Daeron and Aerion were both dead and Aemon refused the throne. In the show, Aegon is the father of Aerys II, the Mad King. In the books, he's his grandfather.
  22. Because Myrcella had been already sent to Dorne to marry Doran's son. Can't remember if they called him by his name (I think they did) but they had to keep him or then Myrcella wouldn't have a plot. The problem is that they are revolving the plot around Myrcella instead of Arianne.
  23. Indeed. It's the Griffsignal... I'm here to defend his honour, like a very good beard. Also Duck's because Duck needs love.
  24. Aegon is not a filler. The idea of JonCon being "dead" and exiled in Essos was presented already in book 3.
