  1. Sort of feeling bad for a certain Karstark right about now.
  2. Stannis Baratheon, doesn't need protection, Stannis Baratheon defends himself, and you know this.
  3. I felt bad for this thread since nobody posted, so I thought I would give it one. I didn't think the episode was anything special and the Sam and Bran stuff just bugged me. It was flat, Ramsay comes off as an evil Hobbit, Asha and 50 men vs. the Dreadfort, advantage Dreadfort. The acting was ok, I am a Dany fan but that ending was just blah. The Jon and Yiggy scene was??? I don't know what the hell it is, "I have to go home" How the hell did she catch Jon and why is she alone? Brans off to save the world, hey great his story just changed and of course Sam buys it for no reason and is like yeah go ahead have fun.
  4. Just wondering if you noticed the blatant switch to Brans story in the finale. When did Bran start off to stop the Others and what clue did he get that he thinks he is the only one who can do it? Plus without Coldhands how does what Sam does make any sense. "Oh you guys are the saviors, was wondering when you would get here, ok then let me lead you to your deat... mission incursion point." " I don't know you but your a crippled boy two adolesents and a simpleton, have fun defeating the Others after all you have a Obsidian dagger now." "Off for some venison stew. Hey! My fellow watch men, don't worry it's all going to be ok, I sent some kids off into the wilderness to defeat the Others, lets all call it a day and relax, extra dessert for everyone." "Oh Jon's back, triple puddings everyone."
  5. Bran's story has been totally flipped and makes no sense. Without Coldhands helping Sam and sending him for Bran, it makes no sense for Sam to be just like "ok then good luck storming the Others, here is an Obsidian dagger have fun." And Bran is now suddenly out to stop the Others, when they hell did that happen? He knows only he can stop them? WTF is that about? In the books he had a couple of cryptic visions but not on the show. On the show they were running to the wall, then to go beyond the wall to find the 3 eyed crow. And what the hell is sam doing letting a cripple, 2 kids and a simpleton go north. With Coldhands it was understandable, but without him it's just like WTF, plus he made no promise not to tell Jon. It was just ok you go do that here is the exit, the big hole in the wall, have fun I think I won't tell Aemon about this. Cause they are the hero's after all when a bunch of kids tell you they are going to go do something life threatening you help them do it. Cause kids always know the secret truth. Adolesent teens more than anyone, I mean come on.
  6. Is it? then why is Asha on her way to the Dreadfort? Sounds like that story is to be continued next year. Of course meet the new Asha storyline which never happened because it's time for more time with main characters.
  7. Does that make Ramsay Gollum? And Theon lost his precious.
  8. Wow that was, that was??? I don't really know what that was. I am indifferent to the episode. The double Messiah imagery of Jon and Dany, that ending music was like a bad youtube clip. No LS, no Coldhands, Yiggy shoots Jon this week so they could have a nice little talk instead of last week. Sam would never let those kids go North if Coldhands was not there, that made no sense. Please, please, please. Ok children go face an Army of death, it was like watching South Park "Ok children" go ahead ahead and jump into death here is a Obsidian Dagger. It was basically all setup, and nothing really intresting going on, it felt flat. I give it a 5 and feel I am being generous. Gendry in a row boat crossign the Narrow sea with a small bag of food and water. Not even a sail, he has to Row and he is suppose to Row day and night, you know what happens when you stop rowing? The current takes you. Just like 500 miles of rowing in open water. I thought Davos was good, Ram is a bit of a Goof and is more of an angry evil Hobbit than the Sociopathic monster we have come to know and love. Two thumbs up for an Aemon sitting, no Bree and a certain someone confrontation. The hwole thing just felt blah.
  9. No spoilers. I can't tell you all you want to know but i can tell you this. The Rains of Castamere is a famous song in Westeros, everyone knows it. Yunkai? Not sure what happened there, seemed like something got cut. Maybe a flashback next week. Major battle going on outside the Twins though. Probably did mean Jaquen. I am pretty sure Jon told you why he left. And nobody can catch an eagle on a horse. Unless the eagle can't fly. Seems pretty obvious why he left Yiggy. Giantsbane and Jon both kept her out of the fight. Do you remember the Night's Watch vows? And what did Jon say about the Night's watch to Orell right when he was gutting him?
  10. Anyone else we know go catatonic in the series? Creepy and uncomfortable. But maybe a little foreshadowing of horror. Also I don't know how well a horror scene would play with the show. Suddenly going mad usually doesn't happen, it tends to happen after the breakdown. I just thought the writers probably figured who is going to fall for a half assed deception. It's a surprise attack. You play up the wedding. I did like Bolton eyeballing Robb at the wedding, would have liked the music to have gone on a little longer, the killing to go on a little longer and the Great Jon, actually I think more time could of focused on the wedding. Probably could of done with one POV at the wedding, but I get them not doing that to the actors. The Scenes in Essos, I didn't really get the last two, felt like something got cut.
  11. You know what I didn't get the thing with the slaves either, totally forgot about it. WTF was that? Maybe we get something new, some sort of betrayal next week, they have to get rid of Mormont, then again maybe not with the show. Something not right with that seen though.
  12. Well in the books we have the advantage of internal dialogue, but the Red wedding was by and large a surprise for most people. Walders treatment of Robbs wife, Cat picking up something is wrong but to late to do anything. The salt and bread, watch how they eat it and the looks on their faces. I think it was suppose to be a surprise in the books to, I was surprised at least. I don't know man, I usually agree with most of your stuff but I think you might be a little off here. I would suggest watching the whole episode again later. I mean expectations are to begin with, but you seem to be focusing on just the wedding which i thought was good, but look at how the whole episode relates to it. Not like you need my advice but maybe just try watching it again later. Then again maybe you have already seen it twice.
  13. Wow, I can't wait to see how none readers respond. Walder was awesome and so was Roose with that nasty little smirk. The contrast of Jon betryaing the Wildlings and the Boltons and Freys betraying Robb. Oooooooo, goose bumps, so good. Roose and Jon opposite ends of the same coin, "you were right all along" Now I am going to sit down with Lou Malnati's and watch it again and savor every bight. Oh Roose and Walder the North remembers you stupid d-bags.
  14. It was an okay episode, the Bear pit ruins it though. Highlights 1. Half a million, the population of Kings landing 2. Hodor, saying hodor 3. Sorry about the sapphires. I kept waiting for Jamie to push him into the Bear pit. That would of made the scene. 4. And I have a gift for you, your life. 5. Your Grace.
  15. Fell asleep during it, luckily someone woke me up for the last 5 minutes or so. Well maybe not so lucky the last seen looked horrible, Jamie got one good shot in and it was both flat and rushed. Why is the episode called Bear and the maiden fair? It's clearly not what the episode was based on. Going to try and watch it again no promises I can stay awake through this... stuff. Is there a negative end of the rating number scale.
  16. Ahh the legendary 3 eyed Lannister known throughout the realm as Blinky, Blinky Lannister Tyrions evil little brother.
  17. Tyrion telling Sansa, oh I know a certain mod that was probably pulling out her hair.
  18. I am bitching cause I didn't get to savor her death more, off screen? That was cruel, it took all the flavor out of it.
  19. Felt the same way, I gave it a 6-7 because of high production values and good actors. I also new an episode like this was coming so I was not surprised. I should give it a 10 because they got rid of Ros. But off camera to rob me of my glee? Oh no, oh no, oh no.
  20. And your rating is? What is a "meh" on the scale of 1-10?
  21. 6-7, nothing special, some odd changes.
  22. Almost forgot little finger creepin on Sansa, thought that was an interesting scene.
  23. It was pretty good, some great scenes with some not so great scenes. I thought Jamie/Bree was one of the best scenes of the year easily, they did a nice job pulling that off. Tywin/Cersie/Tyrion was well done, Robbs scenes were good, Davos/Shireen was sweet, and I thought the actor playing Stannis was better this week, although different, his changes were not as extreme as his lst scene with Mel. Beric and the hound, that was well done. Grey Worm and Dany was well done, a second good week Emilia, good work with her facial emotion. The Arya scene, I everyone in those scenes was great except Arya. Not that she was bad, I just thought a couple of times, well I was wondering where some of the cold anger was. Like the hit list, it felt more distant and Sad, she felt distant and sad. The Hot Pie scene was better than the Gendry scene, it felt a little desperate and reaching, where is the dark side? Didn't think she was bad but just not as good as others in the scene. Gendry felt kind of emotionless and Arya felt desperate, just like the scene with the knife, it was desperate. The Jon and Ygritte scene felt forced and they felt detatched. It was an okay looking scene, but I don't feel anything between the two characters. They don't really talk on the show, not sense last year really. This year Jon has hardly said a word, and what he has said has not really been directed at her. The scenes beyond the wall feel detatched, with very little character development. It's just like lets put in a few of the well known scenes from the book and not bother with the rest. It feels flat, and devoid of emotion. Babies in Jars???? Don't remember that from the books, but it felt wierd and out of place. Looked like someting out of Aliens. Loras is getting butchered, I always thought he was loyal to Renly even in death. He seems rather unbothered and rather enjoying himself. Sort of missing the chip on his shoulder he had in the books. I gave it a 7-8. It was good, some really nice scenes, but the scenes beyond the wall are ruining a lot of it for me, they just have no real character development going on there. Really not sure how I feel about the episode, liked some scenes a lot, didn't like others. Thought the camera work and lighting was good, intresting with all the heavy shading, mixed with natural streaming light. Dark and hazy at times, illuminating at others, characters constantly going from dark to light, like Stannis. Thought some of the makeup work was really well done, Jamie's eyes swollen and puffy very subtle about what he just went through, but the Greyscale? I never really imagined it looking that plastic. One thing did shock me, Bree, kinda has a pretty nice little caboose going on. I was kind of like, hey, your a girl. Which tells you how well the actress is doing. At least in my eyes.
