  1. was that like a COTF handgrenade?
  2. Summers dead wtf??? will any of the direwolves live
  3. We knew it was gonna happen some way, might as well be one of the starks messing everything up again
  4. Theon even when people praise his performances it is still underrated , Alfie does a fantastic job at playing that part.
  5. That Jorah and Dany scene he me right in the feels
  6. I think that is a continuity error, Jorah told Dany he loved her just before she banished him ,
  7. The actor playing Euron has a very unfortunate speech impediment
  8. apparently kinslaying is all the rage in westeros now, everybodies doing it and proud of it.
  9. wouldn't this revelation make leaf thousands of years old???
  10. Jon and Sansa weren't close, Jon and Sansa weren't emotionally siblings, Jon and Sansa together wouldn't be incestuous, your point is invalid.
  11. In Westeros cousins marrying isn't considered incest anymore than a stark marrying a karstark who are considered to be kin of the starks. Joanna and Tywin lannister were first cousins and they married Joanna went to King's Landing in 259 AC, for the coronation of King Jaehaerys II Targaryen, and would remain as a lady-in-waiting for the future queen, Princess Rhaella Targaryen. There are rumours that Joanna had given her maidenhead to Prince Aerys the night of Jaehaerys' coronation, and briefly became Aerys' paramour after he ascended the throne himself. It doesn't seem like Tywin and Joanna had this great bond before they were married. I see a great deal of foreshadowing of Jon and Sansa getting together I guess we will have to agree to disagree
  12. I never once mentioned red herring quotes, you put forward the notion that George alluded to Jon having romantic feelings for Arya and provided quotes I then stated my opinion that if George intended to give that impression about their relationship then it would ultimately be a red herring because for me as a reader it wouldn't hold true to who Arya is or serve any purpose in the overall story. You then put forward the relationship Sansa had with the hound as being an obstacle in the way of Jon and Sansa becoming romantically involved I pointed out to you that Sandor has parallels with Jon that would serve Sansas character/story progression via Sansa transfering her feelings for Sandor on to Jon. Sandor and Jon have a few things in common actually, both partially disfigured yes, both over shadowed by an older brother in childhood both brooding outsiders ,Jon went off to serve the nights watch which is essentially a monastery Clegane served as joffereys bodyguard and later on the kings guard he then presumably became a monk on the quiet isle, both never actively tried to have sex even before they joined their respective orders with the exception of Sandor wrestling with his urge to have sex with Sansa and of course Jon being with yigritte, Sandor and Jon have both essentially been resurrected. We already agreed that the relationship wouldn't be incestuous or at least considered to be at that time so of course it wouldn't have the same style as the incestuous relationships he has written.
  13. GRRM is litterally BEHIND the show as in he hasn't advanced his story to the point where the show has gotten to. You keep suggesting that I have some desired outcome in all of these scenarios I was merely sharing my observation that the way George structured the whole dynamic of Jons relationship with each of the stark children seemed to suggest that he had some plan to do something interesting between Sansa and Jon for me the show confirmed that last night by having Sansa apologise for her past behavior towards Jon that wasn't apparent on the show at least, it is my theory that they are going to use this perceived lack of sibling affection as a foundation for a romantic relationship .It would be a surprise as Jons true parentage hasn't been revealed in the books or the show. I have no idea why you've gone off on some tangent about Arya and Jon and seem to want me to back up your ideas with quotes, it is nosense. If you believe George would have Arya swoop in out of nowhere and want to marry Jon and be Queen of westeros then you really have no insight into how George writes. There are even parallels between Jon and the hound that further strengthen the idea that Sansa will fall in love with Jon, the hound was always a dark figure with a facial disfigurement now Jon is in the same boat, She had feelings for the hound She can have feelings for Jon too.
  14. I don't see George writing Arya marrying Jon , mainly because it wouldn't benefit Aryas character she never wanted to be the wife of a great lord or a king, Sansa on the other hand started out wanting to Marry a Prince She has since been humbled and suffered for being so superficial, it would be a good plot twist to have her Marrying a boy she believed to be so beneath her that turned out to be a legitimate King. George is behind the show now so who knows if Sansa will become pregnant before being reunited with Jon in the books ."lol" " Do even know the specific quotes and passages in referring to? " I've had enough of your smarmy condescending attitude. You're the one that seems to be too emotionally invested in what you want to happen,
  15. There are numerous comparisons made in the books of Arya with Lyanna and the thing that binds Arya, Jon and Lyanna is the stark like hair and appearance. I always took most of Jons musing on Arya to be subtle clues as to who his mother is, it could also be an attempt by George to lead the reader into seeing Jon as a new Aegon the conquerer given that Aegon married both of his sisters. I believe that any subtle hint at romanic loving feelings between Jon and Arya that George may or may not have written will ultimately be a red herring. If you examine Jon and Sansas character development you can see how they are almost coming full circle to meet each other as more worthy partners. You could also draw parallels between Jons childhood upbringing and Littlefingers. I could also see Sansa being pregnant and Jon marrying her and raising the baby of his enemy as his own just as Ned did with him.George loves writing history repeating itself. On a different note I'm pretty sure Rickon is that flayed man on the cross in the middle of the battlefield we saw in the season promos.
  16. Georges Characters in the books are far more layered and the relationships they have with each other are far more intricate, the story in the books is also more expansive. I always took most of Jons musings about Arya as bread crumbs, little clues to help the reader keep in mind how similar Jon, Arya and Lyanna looked nothing more than that.
  17. When I said it was completely unrelated I meant that to suggest because George made them close in what was published means they will get together is a big leap.It is my opinion that he altered his idea to have a romance between Jon and one of the Stark girls because he didn't want to draw parallels between that relationship and Cersei and JaIme . I don't recall in the tv show there ever being a suggestion that Sansa was particularly cold or unloving towards Jon but in this episode they seem to have gone out of their way to establish that, in the game of thrones book the fact that Sansa and Jon weren't close always jumped out at me.It had all the hallmarks of a fairytale, I could be entirely wrong about the whole thing of course.
  18. When I say George originally wanted Arya to fall in love with Jon that was in his original blueprint for the entire song of ice and fire story the bond between Jon and Arya in what was published is entirely unrelated, If R+L= J theory is correct , Sansa and Jon getting together wouldn't be seen as anything out of the ordinary in that culture.
  19. This episode was a huge improvement on the previous three, Sansa and Jons reunion was touching. I have always suspected there may be a possibility that Jon and Sansa would have a romance, based on how George seemed to want to create a distance between them from the start and I believe George originally wanted Arya to fall in love with Jon so it is something that crossed his mind plus Jon has a thing for reheads.I didn't like the whole kings landing stuff there it seemed a little idiotic as if the thought of marching the tyrell army into kings landing hadn't crossed the minds of the Tyrells without Cersei thinking of it. The high sparrow scenes feel repetitive at best, complete pointless drivel at worst. The scene with Ramsey murdering Osha was utter garbage. I liked everything else I have to say although the dialogue is still no where near the standard of Georges writing in the books. I prefer the idea that Dany burned the khals alive herself and was unburnt than Drogon arriving at the perfect moment to rescue her again.I'm looking forward to Theon presumably taking over victarions story Alfie allen is a one of the better actors on the show and the Ironborn need to have more screen time in my opinion. It was a fairly enjoyable and entertaining episode overall I gave it an 8
  20. I gave this episode a very generous 1. I'm not a show hater, in fact I came to this story through the show and read the books after season 1 . I was drawn in by how layered the characters were and how realistic their experiences seemed to be although set in supernatural circumstances , at this point the show is little more than some second rate fantasy crap the kind of thing you would expect to find early on a Tuesday morning on Syfy channel. I can tell you with one hundred percent certainty that had I never read the books I would still think this show has turned into an over flowing public toilet. The dialogue is atrocious, the script has so much filler , the plot to nearly all of the story arcs are filled with holes. The show runners pander to Peter Dinklage and Lena headey by white washing their characters so they feel like they are delivering something with more depth when in fact they are just giving too much screen time to a character like Cersei whom everyone hated from season 1, It is almost as if they expect us all to watch Cersei and cry for her because her children died and forget what a sadistic smarmy little bitch she has been for 6 seasons it just isn't going to happen, Lena is a good actress but I can't help but feel like Cerseis story is very dull no matter how many peasants her frankenclegan kills or how many fiendishly evil commands she makes, every scene is so devoid of humor for the most part there is always an expectation that Tyrion is going to appear any sec now to make a cock joke because that is what he is now the comedian of the show. I would've been far happier had they replaced the now grown men playing Bran and Rickon than characters like Daario or the three eyed raven, they replaced the mountain like three times. I hope the rest of the season picks up and the winds of winter is released soon after so I can put it all behind me.
  21. I gave it a 4. I would've rated this episode much higher if it weren't for the disaster that is the Dorne story arch, my main problem with this episode is that apart from the Brienne scene it is boring, the dialogue this episode was atrocious, plot holes everywhere borefest.
  22. Why would people who only watch the show watch this show again next season?? Jon's a gonner, Dany looks like she has been captured and Arya is blind. The special effects team that removed all of Lena Headys Tattoos deserve awards
  23. I gave it a 9 bc it kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time with the exception of the walk of shame that felt like it dragged a bit. I bet the Stannis fans are livid now they know he lost the battle for winterfell. I didn't like the dothraki scene it felt like they did everything they could to leave us with the impression Dany will be captured. The main reason i gave it a 9 was for the Arya killing trant scene and everything in that hall of faces scene and the gut feeling the episode left me with that the winds of winter will come out this year.
  24. I gave it an 8 . The one thing that made me roll my eyes was the accurate count of just how many men got into stannis's camp and set fire to the tents in the pitch black of darkness...20 men was it hmmm where did we hear that number before oh right Ramsay requested that exact number of men in the last episode. They have to make everything so bloody obvious and the dialogue goes along those lines too. This season has been so bad that I have to give this episode an 8 to reflect just how bad the other episodes were. The sad fact is they are probably half way through filming dopey changes and pointless filler for the next season already. The fighting pit scene was bizare at times but some elements of it were enjoyable ie Jorah throwing the spear to save Daenerys but the whole business of the harpies not really putting in any effort to kill Dany once they surrounded her was very unrealistic (yes putting aside the fact dragons don't exist).Jorah carelessly grabbing Dany's hand knowing he has grayscale, I've noticed that a lot of the scenes since they diverged from the books in season 4 have been very repetitive litterally nothing happens over the span of say four episodes at a time except the occassional minor character like Janos Slynt losing their head it's not as if it can fall back on its incredible dialogue and well rounded realistic characters because D&D simply aren't up to Georges standard. at this rate I can honestly see this show being cancelled before the final series.
  25. without a doubt one of the best episodes of the entire show the hardhome scene was incredible just epic in what it took on and succeeded with minus some ropey jon is such a great guy dialogue, Tyrion & Dany scenes were fantastic too , an easy 10/10
