it's so true. It's ls all over again from last year. Everyone convinced themselves something was going to happen, even though there ate perfectly legitimate logistical reasons it couldn't happen. I feel bad for the show watchers since book readers are now deciding to retaliate by spoiling them.

Honestly the people on this site are doing a really good job of making everyone else hate stannis. It's pretty obvious there isn't enough time for Jon to meet with mance and for stannis to show up. They couldn't wrap that up in the 7 or 8 minutes hbo would give them. Hbo only lets shows go overtime in finales.

[Book Spoilers] EP408 Discussion
go joff go replied to Ran's topic in E08: The Mountain and the Viper
everyone is focusing on the chamber pot comment, but does anyone think the dying on the bed and at a dinner comment is actually foreshadowing too. Lot of people speculate that cersei will be strangled in her sleep. I wonder who might die at a dinner.- 1,191 replies

[Book Spoilers] EP408 Discussion

I personally like that lf isn't the Gary stu he was in the books, that he can make mistakes of that something can be out of his control. People treat that book characteristic, the perfection, like it's a credit to his character, but I think it detracts.- 1,191 replies

This Gregor might be a worse actor then the last two. His one line made me cringe as the delivery was totally wrong. But eh whatever

plus I bet they expand on it and connect the dots more so it won't be so over the head of viewers.

here is the problem with the aryn reveal, show watchers don't know who he is, and they wouldn't know if they revealed it this episode next episode, episode ten, or if they used big flashing light, sucks I know but I think the reveal is an acknowledgement of that

I think the shae set up is obvious. Bronn and Shae never went to the ship. I watched season 2 again and the scene where bronn brings shae to tyrion he asks where he got her. He say some prick two tents down. He was talking about tywin. It was a setup since season two. It's who shae was waiting to during Blackwater. There is now no chance that Tyson kills her

I can't speak everyone, but personally want them to get rid of arrogant daario or at least make him successfully suave. Daario was hands down the worst character in the book, so making him like the book would be a mistake

Stannis (and his fans) are no different from Jaimie (and his fans). They and their fans rationalize all the bad things they do, and then get mad at the show when it points out that they do these bad things.

Oh please he was going to sacrifice a kid in the book and had to be talked out of it. He wasn't about justice, he was a self righteous prick. Davos defying him like that does not deserve the you were right all along lets be best buds again reaction that people seem to be craving. Show Stannis chose the realm over the boy.
-
Righteous doesn't mean right.
-
Man when did Stannis start getting all these delusional fans. Stannis isn't a good person. If GRRM has been consistent with his character description Stannis would have ordered Davos death. But he wasn't consistent with Stannis. Stannis was about the rules except when he wasnt.
-
I don't get the stannis complaint either. His actions were much more consistent with his character then freeing Davos would have been.
-
I gave it a 10. There was a lot of things that I wanted in beforehand that didn't make it, but I realized as I was watching that all the action in the book would have been pretty hard to mix in with the shakespearean need to have people stand up, talk, and interact. There really is only so much physical moving around that can be done in a scene where people are also talking before the scene starts suffering. The RW really isn't easily done as a blackwater style action sequence

9.5 I actually like Sam the Slayer scene better than Dracarys. I think one of the most beautifully shot scenes in the whole series. The crows cawing in the background while he was talking to Gilly was awesome.

Great episode, especially the final scene. I personally would have liked them to keep the kneel. But in the show universe it would come off as unspeakably hoorible thing to do at that moment. People never forgave book sansa for what she did and GRRM always says he never intended her to be seen in such a poor light, so I don't really have that big of a problem with it,
