thezhgguy Posted May 14, 2014 Share Posted May 14, 2014 I totally hate the Freys and think that the absolutely broke guest-right and deserve all the punishment of the gods. That being said I've read in many places (and in my own reading of the novels) that Walder actually nullified guest rights by saying "mayhaps", based on the game Lord of the Crossing played by Bran and the two Walders (Big and Little) at Winterfell. Mayhaps isn't there to absolve Walder, it's just there as a sort of easter egg to anyone who paid close attention and caught it. (I didn't.)
