Would Ned kill Joffrey?

Recommended Posts

If Ned saw from the afterlife what Joffrey was doing to his family, would he want to see him dead? Knowing Ned's distaste for harming children, would he have approved of the killing of Joffrey by Stannis or Robb?

Hmmm I am inclined to say no because he did tell Cersei to take the children and go; however, by the time Joff takes power he is no longer a child by Medieval standards. Would he kill someone like Tommen, no. Joffrey yes, or at the very least imprisoned in the black cells or send to the wall, which for Joff would be as good as death.

Well we know Ned didn't like Joffrey at all. But the reason he told Cersie to run with the kids is because he hates harming children and he didn't believe that they should be harmed because of events beyond their control. ( though he was a willing participant in holding theon hostage. Situation where he would kill a person based on who there father was.) But if he's deciding this after he's died then I think he would. By that time Joffrey has committed his own crimes and is a lawful adult. Add to that the things done to Sansa and he definitely would IMO.

For Ned the main concern about killing children is probably that they are innocent. If he sees Joffrey as a cruel, sadistic murderer then yes, his opinions might have been different. But in Ned's eyes Joffrey was just a boy - a vain little prince and a liar, and he did not like what he has seen of his personality, but nothing special.
