Melifeather Posted August 1, 2014 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Clearly Rhaegar absconded with her, took her North first, where she was impregnated by Mance/Roose/Hodor/Aemon/etc... and then took her to the tower of joy where, when she had the baby it was then swapped with the real Aegon, brought by Ashara Dayne in secrecy due to a communication from Bloodraven to Rhaegar telling him of the upcoming sack of King's Landing. So the real Jon Snow was taken back to King's Landing and had it's head bashed in, and the person we know as Jon Snow is actually the real Aegon Targaryen, thus the reason for the King's Guard. :eek: It really isn't all that complicated. Rhaegar and his Kingsguard and probably Ashara take Aegon with the intention of safekeeping in Dorne. Rhaegar gets called back or returned early leaving Aegon with the Kingsguard and Ashara. Ned comes upon them at the Tower of Joy. Ned brings Ashara and Aegon to Winterfell claiming the babe as his, thus the rumors that Ashara was Jon's mother.. Wylla becomes the wetnurse for Aegon and/or Jon. When Ned arrives home, he discovers Lyanna and Jon, so Ashara has to take Aegon somewhere else, but both babes are running interference for each other. Aegon's arrival as Ned's bastard is the perfect cover for Jon to come out of hiding, and Aegon is also concealed by assuming Jon's identity.
