Daendrew
Here is the wiki for the castle. It is simply stunning inside. Some interior pics on the web. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/45/c9/08/45c9081092f5a3c7cf8a742d8a9721a0.jpg http://enya-fanclub.narod.ru/gallery/photoes/promo/paris02.jpg https://img.buzzfeed.com/buzzfeed-static/static/2015-11/20/20/enhanced/webdr14/longform-1230-1448068249-3.jpg https://img-cdn.advisor.travel/296x225px-Manderley_Castle_2.jpg https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/f8/fb/97/f8fb97309e2d56fe3c0c45d7bedc8187.jpg http://www.castlesontheweb.com/photoarchive/photos/10347.jpg It is named Manderley Castle for a fictional castle from a 1938 Gothic novel which had surprising endings. That may have been the true homage, if there was one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca_(novel)
Walda
Wow. Of course it is. I can't believe I never picked up on it. Rebecca is a great read. Mrs Danvers is so creepy. I mostly loathe Victorian Gothic, and in my mind's ear, I can hear a ghostly echo of Enya's voice on the wind, as she tiptoes around the galleries all alone in her pencil-line maxiskirt on a dark and stormy night, but I love what she had done to the place - those Rococo-style interiors, and the view, oh my. The garden needs work, but yeah, its glorious. I could get used to a place like that. ETA: I wonder if this contains a hint about the first Wylla.
