Any part for these guys?

I have two friends who are actors. I figure the best way to get them to read the books is if I claim a certain character would be a good fit for them. So, your input on these two would be appreciated.

Thank you.

You are kidding right? David Moscow. AKA David from Newsies? I say he can have any part he wants, considering the size of the crush I had on him all through High School.

Seriously he calls to mind Hyle Hunt... but the part is non existent until like book 4... and we need him to read the book.

How about Jory Cassel? He's all over the first book. (although that's all he gets)

No character really stands out for Dave from my perspective. However this seems like a reasonable suggestion for him. I am unfamiliar with his work so I have no idea if he can pull off Littlefinger, but his look, at least, is reasonably Petyr-ish

I could see him as Hyle Hunt. I don't have too much of an image for Jory though, but what image I do have does not fit with Dave.

I agree with Varys and Hyle.

If we have to lure them in we would have to assign them pretty big roles.

I base my opinion completely on looks as I haven´t seen them in anything.
Barry Papick is actually pretty close to how I see Varys. He needs a harder edge I think. When we see him talking to Tyrion I think is much closer to his real personality, than the powdered role he plays in council.

I am a little more conflicted about Moscow.
Perhaps trick him into thinking he is badass enough for the Hound.
At least until he is lured into the book.

I will champion my old friend Tim V. Murphy. Many years ago I shared an apartment with this guy for the first four or five months I lived out in Los Angeles and recently found him again on Facebook. Weird thing is, I found him there through someone I knew from college who worked on "Appaloosa" with him (though they apparently knew each other before that, even). Had I realized they were both in the movie I would have seen it when it came out, now I need to wait until video, damn it.

Sometimes Tim is almost a dead ringer for Viggo Mortensen (but with an Irish accent - Viggo is also in "Appaloosa"). He's also a damn fine actor and I happened to run across a notice the other day that he starred in the recent revival of three lost Tennessee Williams plays - he got to star in the first production of one that hadn't been seen since it was first written back in the 1940's and he and everyone involved got very good reviews. He'd make a damn fine Roose Bolton.

I could really imagine him has Benjen or Qorin Half-Hand, or some other member of the Watch. He's got a very rugged, craggy faced look (again, think Viggo).

Come to think of it, I really should mention my other friend from the movie "Appaloosa," Cerris Morgan-Moyer. She has a very interesting look. I could actually see her as Lysa, though she's way too skinny for the role.

Benjen's too young (~30), I don't remember Qhorin's age but he's a senior ranger so that could work well. He looks more like a resourceful rough'n'tumble ranger than a creepy leech fancier to me.

I like her face for that role very much, would make a good aristocrat's daughter. Shorter than I would think but they can give her heels and maybe a big ol' fat suit (she looks pretty petite).

Tim is too old for Benjen, that is true but I have always imagined Qhorin as well into his 40's - and if not, the life beyond the Wall probably ages a man very quickly, I'd imagine. Fact is, as a more minor character you could go either way with that.

Cerris is definitely very tiny, probably too tiny for Lyssa. I'm trying to think of another role for her.

Why not the other Tully? I think she has the look for a pretty good Catelyn.

Your friend Barry I can see as either Varys or Biter, David as Littlefinger if theyre willing to put him in such an important role. If not then I can somehow see him as a Greyjoy. Maybe Damphair or Victarion if he wants to get ripped (I always pictured Victarion as a beast).

Tim Murphy I can see him as Tywin only because he looks kind of like Ed Harris, who I always thought would be a perfect Tywin. If not him then maybe the Halfhand or Brynden Tully.

Physique-wise, Catelyn's even taller than Lysa. These things maybe can be shot around, but if so I think Lysa would work just as well, seems to me she has a smallish mouth as Lysa is said to have.
