xerobull
Had a thought- if HBO catches up with the series, it would be great to see Dunk & Egg as a filler. Way, way down the road, to be sure, but a good 'bonus' season to keep the fans happy.
awesome possum
If A Game of Thrones takes off and becomes a huge hit, I can see HBO trying to option Dunk & Egg as made-for-HBO movies, but they won't make it as a replacement for a regular season. That would not make sense. And honestly, unless GRRM dies, the television series won't catch up with the books. It's generally about a year, year and a half in between HBO seasons. If the show even makes it to the Dance season (HBO is notoriously fickle about pulling the trigger on expensive shows that aren't producing as expected), it will likely air in 2015 or 2016. Martin would have to spend another five or six years writing the next book in the series - which I don't see happening.
