Blackf1sh
I am new to this site, so I don't know if this has been suggested before. But I was watching Black Adder the other day and when watching Brian Blessed, I just pictured him as the perfect actor to play Wyman Manderly.Any thoughts on this? Mr Smith
Damn, he would have made a really good Tormund...
andrew_
Robbie Coltrane http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3002187520/nm0001059orJohn Rhys-Davies in a fat suit http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4046888960/nm0722636If I recall Illyrio Mopatis was written as being grossly obese in the books but in the tv show he would barely be considered overweight. So I don't think its a huge deal, but it's still pretty important to the character bio i guess.

Tony Soprano
Ian McNeice, the herald from Rome would be a great Lord Wyman. HBO has cast several Rome actors in GoT, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him getting the role of Wyman.
StannisandDaeny
G.R.R.MWhy TH notBecause he has to write books! :drunk:... and that's truly, really, the only reason.
Tony Soprano
Because he has to write books! :drunk:... and that's truly, really, the only reason.Well, he's involved in a lot of other ASoIaF oriented activities as well. I'd prefer to see him have a cameo on the show instead of promoting ASoIaF calendars and other such merchandise.
D_Richard
I've got a really open mind for the casting of Manderly. A particularly thin actor may be TOO much of a change, but I think Nina Gold, and D & D should be open to a non-obese actor if the right talent is available.I'm rooting for Brendan Coyle (Bates from Downton) to join the cast some day. If he were to play my favorite Stark bannerman, I'd lose my mind.Or perhaps a huge name from the UK that has ties to Nina Gold.... Brian Cox. Stefon Stark
I see Brian Cox as a great Wyman Manderly. He would know how to represent the North well. I am also that sure people will be hyped by his presence in GoT
RenlyIsNotRight
For me, it's gotten to the point where I imagine all of Wymans lines in Brendan Gleesons voice. I know that's wishful thinking on my part, but let me have it before my dreams are temporarily crushed...and then I more than likely end up liking whoever they actually get. Manderly's_Bastard
Ian McNeice, the herald from Rome would be a great Lord Wyman. HBO has cast several Rome actors in GoT, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him getting the role of Wyman. This plus he's already done a fat, smug bastard, in Dune. Plus thats who I always pictured as Wyman.
