I think the Ifequevron are a parallel to some isolated communities of Neanderthals that remained in southern Spain tens of thousand of years after Homo Sapiens wiped them out in the rest of Europe. The Northern Forests of Ifequevron likely were such an enclave of Children of the Forest that survived for millennia after they died out in the rest of Essos.
