Are we sure Jon is Robb's Heir?

I don't believe those two are separate. Since Bran the Builder, the seat of the head of House Stark was Winterfell, whether he wore a crown or not. King of Winter was replaced by Lord of Winterfell and by King in the North again, but it's still the same office, just a different title.

But Robb would suddenly have two different successors, one king and one lord? There's no hint of it within his lengthy discussions with Catelyn about this very issue, as far as I recall.

I highly doubt this. Robb considered Rickon dead. So why wouldn't Robb name Jon as heir to Winterfell, the capitol, as well? If Robb doesn't then Sansa is automatically heir and with her the Imp.

ps read an interesting theory once about unCat having Robb's crown (they captured it from the Freys apparently) and that she might be the one to crown Jon, but I don't see Jon ever coming south again at this point in time.

Fair enough, the point I tried to make is that Jon can still be the KitN without WF as his seat.
