Knights of Ni Posted July 31, 2013 Share Posted July 31, 2013 I love how George uses songs and old stories in foreshadowing and downplays their connection with current events.Examples like:The story about the Rat Cook, which made Lord Wayman into Lord NoWayMan!The song about Jenny of Oldstones. This one has a lot of references. The Ghost of High Hill which Lord Beric and Arya met is obviously the woodwitch friend of Jenny of Oldstones whom she bemoans about. She prophized that the PwwP would be born of the line between Prince Aerys and Princess Rhaella. She is also Maegi whom Cersei meets as a child. I have a pet theory that this song also inspired Rhaegar with his relationship with Lyanna, a prince who gives up his throne for love which is why he ran away to Dorne.The Bear and the Maiden Fair - Jorah and Dany.The Night King. My favorite. Theories include him being Coldhands and a Stark if Old nan is to believed. The relationship between the female Other(?) and the Night King is similar to the one between Stannis and Mel(soul sucking sex and swaying men under his command).Any other stories/links you guys noticed?
