A Crow Come Over Posted August 23, 2013 Share Posted August 23, 2013 In an interview in this week's edition of Entertainment Weekly, Benioff and Weiss talk about how they pitched the idea for the TV show to Martin. Benioff says "...at the very end of it he said, 'Who is Jon Snow's real mother?' It was a test question." Weiss then chimes in, "We had talked about it amongst ourselves before, and we had an educated guess. Which turned out to be right. Which is why we're sitting here."Seems to me like this has to be a reference to the titular theory. The fact that they said they had an "educated guess" says to me that it's not someone who has been mentioned as a possible mother in the text (Wylla, Ashara Dayne, random girl on the Sisters), and that they had to do a bit of digging through the text to come up with their theory.Thoughts?
