There appeared to be no clause if Viserys died that it become Quentin and Dany. So, she was under no legal obligation. B. The Martells wanted revenge for Elia. With no knowledge of (fake?) Aegon, Dany is pretty much their auto-support as she doesn't fuck it up badly or an act of God happens (like Quentin committing suicide by dragon and another possible Targ with better claim than her appearing). It would make no sense politically. This not saying marrying Hizdar was anything but stupid in her desire to take the Iron Throne. Tywin Manderly Posted October 23, 2013 Share Posted October 23, 2013 I am always surprised that Dany doesn't focus on the most relevant thing in Quentyn's announcement of the marriage pact. Doran agreed to marry Arianne to Viserys and back him for the throne yet did absolutely NOTHING for over a dozen years while they wandered the free cities penniless and friendless.
