As I understand it George reviews the SSM collection to check for misinformation. This is the ssm ethos on the front page of the citadel collection - whether he does this anymore we don't know - although I doubt Ran would be quick to add to the SSM database if he thought he was posting misinfo. "I would have no problem with you collecting my "words" (by which I assume you mean interviews, public comments, letters, etc, rather than fiction), provided that I could ask you to pull down anything I decided I did not want up there -- misquotes, outdated info, slips of the tongue, etc." Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That enabled me to clear away some of the brush."Best I could do. Apparently it's a longstanding resolution that gets broken whenever he can't find another way. Ran Posted July 29, 2014 Share Posted July 29, 2014 For what it's worth, in all the years and hundreds of SSM entries, there has only ever been one piece withdrawn as false information. We do vet them, and in many cases you'll find that there's often one or more additional reports corroborating a claim. And in the era when people actually emailed GRRM and got replies back, they forwarded them with full headers generally speaking, and 99.9% of people have no idea how to actually forge headers convincingly.
