The Answer
Google Image the asoiaf world map... Westeros and Essos were once connected, right?Could this mean there are a few Weirwood trees lingering in Essos? All it would take is one tree and Dany to stumble across it during a grazing by Drogon. Bran could tap in and invoke her to make the trip back to Westeros. Just a though, I don't know if anyone knows for certain if there is or is not Weirwoods over there.
CJ McLannister
There are most likely weirwoods- we know there's weirwood used in construction, but I don't recall any mention of any weirwoods with faces. It seems like there should be one in the house of Black and White.
LiveFirstDieLater
It is unclear, but the blue-black trees surrounding the House of the Undying produce Shade of the Evening, which seems to have similar properties to the Childrens' Wierwood paste... TheSovereignGrave
Though we're never given a description of the trees themselves, the Kingdom of the Ifequevron has "carved trees" and the Ifequevron themselves sound like they were Children of the Forest or something related. SevasTra82
I don't believe in the history of Essos (that we know of) that there was many forests there, so I doubt that the Children of the Forest would be hanging around over there. Doesn't seem like that's their typical environment. I'd be curious to know though, because there is no indication that The Others have ever been in Essos, nor the COTF. Maester of Valyria
I like to think that the weirwoods evolved only on Westeros, and never made it across the Arm due to Dorne's inhospitable climate. The trees the Warlocks use may well the the 'shadow' equivilents of them, as everything in this world must have its counterpart.
