[Gordon Freeman]

This is a very stern man, a man of few words, someone who expects results without having to give orders. He's a leader by example who has many accomplishments, out of all his victories he has but one loss, and that one loss haunts him.

This has to be a large and powerful man.
I picture someone with a icy stare that would shake a lesser man.

I think they're all too young to play Victarion. He's not supposed to be that much younger than Balon is he?

A bunch of these actors would be too many years younger than Balon (Patrick Malahide was born in the 40's).

I'm not sure on age, but perception wise I think Balon also aged badly and looked older than he was.  (just my feel from the book, *minds eye*)

Brian Thompson - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0859921/, is closer to that age. Denis was also born in 59.

Victarion is one of those few characters for whom there are so many actors that can pull him off. It will probably be some random guy we've never heard of.
But I think it will go to Ray Stevenson. He has the look, is the right age and has history with HBO.

A week ago, I'd have said they should go with Ray Stevenson.

Now, I'm saying it has to be Ray Stevenson. Yesterday was the first time I ever watched him on Rome, and he's as close to what I imagined Victarion as anyone can get. Make him grow some longer hair, give him a huge axe, and voila, you have Victarion.

And plus he has history with HBO. We've gotten a few Rome actors for Season 3, so I hope the trend continues for future seasons. Everyone on that show is awesome.

Stevenson could have been any number of characters. Robert, the Hound, He looks a lot like book Jorah he could still be Victarion and I've heard at least one person mention him for Hotah. Honestly as much as i like Sean Bean, Kevin Mckidd and Ray Stevenson as Ned and Robert would have been awesome.

Ray Stevenson needs to be Victarion. Absolute must. Amazing scene, now i need to go watch all of Rome.

An actor like him cast would really help the Greyjoy storyline kick off, especially if they get someone descent for Euron too. They got kind of well known actors to help Dragonstone kick off, Euron and Vic and the Iron Islands story is about just as important, so I think some big-ish names can be thrown into the mix, especially since we will loose some cast members in the next season or 2......

Ron Perlman would be perfect as Victarion. Especially with the strong jawline and that voice. I love him in nearly everything he does. (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy etc.) and it would definitely draw in some more viewers since I'm sure they'll be expanding a little more with the Greyjoys. My only problem is Perlman's age. He's in his sixties and Victarion is in his 30's or 40's. I guess the power of make up will have to prevail. As for Euron, I always brought up Jason Isaacs as a possibility because of the blue eyes and swagger. (Ex. Harry Potter, Hook... ugh... )

Don't really see how Ron Perlman would fit. He's a mediocre actor, way too old and American. So very unlikely he'll end up being cast.

This. Well, minus the American part. He could do a Dinklage, though having Hellboy on screen might be a little distracting. Plus, h's a lead on Sons of Anarchy. Victarion is a smaller part comparatively.

My vote is still Stevenson but i don't think age is a huge factor here. Life on the Iron Islands is tough....everyone has skin like leather grey in their hair. I think pearlman could pull it off....still my second choice.
