Olligarchy
So, I just got back to this gem of modding and have gotten interested in the idea of playing it on multiplayer. Are there those of us that would be interested in either multiplayer battles, or even "hot seat" style campaigns?
Leonardo
Aye, I play total war a fair bit and have the mod.
Olligarchy
Eeexcellent. Would you prefer a battle or an attempt at a grand campaign? If Grand campaign, which submod/scenario, or is the "vanilla" one fine?
Leonardo
Any is fine, though a short campaign is more likely to be finished. I'm on turn like 60 of my game as Stark and nowhere near taking the throne, though I have begun an assault on the Vale ;D Vanilla is fine, but what other submods do they have? Olligarchy
Here's a list of submods. Ironically some of said sub-mods (like the King of Rivers and Hills) are far more finished than the vanilla mod is.
Stannis Eats No Peaches
Just installing Medieval II and Kingdoms onto my laptop now, so I'm on board for anything when I've installed the mod too.
Olligarchy
Good to hear Stannis Eats No Peaches. Do you have an opinion on if we should use a submod (and if so, which one?) or just roll with the vanilla?

Leonardo
Vanilla is probably our best bet, though if we do use a submod I vote king of the rivers and hills methinks. Fire and Blood looks alright as well.
Olligarchy
Alright. I've setup the vanilla and ready to roll. The Houses that we may play as are as follows:Lannister - I'd like to be these guys. ;)Tully-Greyjoy-Renly -Joffrey-Tyrells -Stark-Martell -Stannis-Arryn- Stannis Eats no Peaches Make your pick, but be aware that once the game starts there is no easy way of joining as we have to start an all new game and I have to change config files all over again to make it work. Stannis Eats No Peaches
When I go on the TWC forums to download the mod, I click on the link and it tells me "file not found". Now, people on there recommend that you download something called "youngbloods" instead. This is all well and good, but if I download that will we be able to play together? Olligarchy
Doubtful. I can send you the 0.53 if you want though?

Olligarchy
Did you use the standard trick of placing Westeros folder into the mods folder, and then changing one of the kingdoms campaigns (like teutonic) into another name like 1, and then naming Westeros into teutonic? :)
Stannis Eats No Peaches
No? I put it in the mods folder as Westeros 0.53. I click on that in the launcher but it comes up with a black screen and a box with "Medieval 2" written in it. I click OK and it takes me back to Steam. Olligarchy
Change the name as I suggested then. :) That's the work around with Steam. After that go to your steam, startup kingdoms and pick the "campaign" you changed the mod folder name to. For example change Westeros name to teutonic (you have to unzip the mod first obviously) and then startup teutonic with the medieval launcher. Stannis Eats No Peaches
Actually, don't worry. I got it to work just by repeating what I had tried previously. Obviously I'd done something wrong. :)
